Super powers and a lot of pretty boys in Super Star Academy I

A line of them?! Well, at least that means we each can pick a favorite…without fighting. 8D

Never thought there would be a day where I can’t remember the names of pretty people. This amount of pretty young stars in one drama should be illegal! Super Star Academy I (超星星学园) is a star-launching vehicle for a truckload of new faces in the showbiz, most of them are singers and rookies. In this parallel universe, one’s super power is based on their horoscope sign. Interesting. Our heroine is shunned when she was a child so when invitation from the prestigious Star Academy arrives, she readily agrees, not knowing it’s the first step of awakening her own powers. She also meets and befriends the numerous heirs in the said exclusive school, forming friends and enemies along the way.

This sounds like Harry Potter and his adventures in Hogwarts. Yunno, the kitty version. Lol.

• More on the story: Trailer 1 tells us about the time when this universe has 13 horoscopes, one (Serpentarius) is eliminated due to their frightening nature and they hide in the darkness, scheming to strike back. The Fang clan controlling the 12 horoscope signs is the strongest tribe but yet they risk having no heir in their line. Fang Master is sick, leaving his wife to conspire a scheme of killing his other son (not her blood) – a true Leo (Bai Shu) in favor of her own premature baby (our male lead’s a Gemini – Xiao Zhan). 18 years later, our male lead is the Director (?) of Star Academy and is involved in a struggle of power with Adam Li (Peng Chu Yue), who constantly bullies the new student (our female lead). She is saved multiple times by the stepson, but develops feelings for the male lead instead. Oh. When the dark force comes back to attack the school, it is up to her power to save them.
• Trailer 2 seems to be more in tune of the overall tone – lighthearted, the boys standing on the rooftop at the end. “Why must it always be on the rooftop?” “Don’t people in movies always stand on the rooftop?” Presumably to look cool. heh.
• They shot this drama on the campus of China Academy of Art.
