I haven’t followed variety shows in so long so this news came as a surprise. Takes a Real Man (真正男子汉) is the Chinese Version of the Korean show, Real Man (much like Run Brothers to Korea’s Running Man), featuring a group of celebrities experiencing life in the military. Season one created many beautiful friendships, one of which includes Yuan Hong and his young brother Liu Hao Ran, who rounded out his handsome groomsmen. In season 2, they have added on four lovely female celebrities to mix up the dynamics. They are Yang Mi, Tong Li Ya, Zhang Lan Xin, and Shen Meng Chen, along with a group of male stars in Jiang Jin Fu, Huang Zi Tao, Li Rui, and Sun Yang.

I am so excited for this show! I read in an interview that Tao’s father wanted him to be soldier but Tao convinced his father to let him become a singer instead by writing pages of letters talking about his dream and sticking them under the door for his father to read. This show probably fulfills part of his father’s dreams where he gets to see his son as a soldier haha!

Will look out for this. I previously saw Huang Zitao in Laws of the Jungle. Must say he was the highlight of the show, very likable; he’ll be a great addition in this one too, I think.

I remember watching only a few episodes for the 1st season but somehow never finished. But I’ll make sure to go check out season 2.
Sun Yang’s cheekbones are so sharp, they’re to die for. Them cheeks so nice he don’t need no contour or bronzer. Haha I wonder what his makeup artists will do when they see them. They’re not going to be made up and pretty for the show, but at least for press conferences and interviews…
