Star-studded movie Call of Heroes with Eddie Peng, Louis Koo

Formerly known as the Deadly Reclaim (I like this title better!), now it’s called Call Of Heroes. The odds are against our villain played creepily by Louis Koo (Triumph In The Sky Movie) if the whole village is keen on his execution, led by Sean Lau (The Vanished Murderer) and joined by Eddie Peng (Legend of Wong Fei Hung), with solid action star in Wu Jing (SPL II: A Time For Consequences) and Sammo Hung as the action director. Now these actors are already up there in age so can we please get some fresh faces in the cinema world of Kung Fu? I don’t know, someone like Ashton Chen? If these actors have been playing similar roles for years, so can he! I don’t care anymore at this point. Lol.

So excited to see Eddie and Wu Jing, who I absolutely adore! I have to agree with you Kappy, Ashton should have landed a role somewhere in here! How many kung fu movies are they going to continue to make before someone decides to pick him up?! I worry that whoever is managing his acting career isn’t doing a very good job of promoting him to the right producers *sigh*

YESH! YESH! How come no one is looking towards his way. That poor kid. Do I need to start a petition for him to be appreciated?!! *breathes out fire*

I don’t think even a petition would get him noticed unfortunately :'( He just doesn’t have that star power that he had years ago when he was at his peak unfortunately. Although I’m not sure at this point if he himself really wants to continue pursuing these roles anymore? I can’t read mandarin so I don’t know how to find out more about him and his thoughts on all this >_< Have you tried researching more on whether he's still interested in taking on kung fu movies/dramas?

I haven’t read any recent interviews of his. Before, he was only focusing on Kung fu roles, but after a while of getting nowhere, he’s settled for what is offered. 🙁

Eddie looks perfect to be playing the Monkey King…. and is it just me, out does Louis Koo gets shinier and shinier by the day…. it’s like he has a professional face polished like the ones hired at madame Tussaud’s…

I don’t know. Strong actors have long movie career. I think even major chinese or korean movies always have familiar faces too. Myself, I’ve always been a Lau Ching Wan fan. He has always been awesome in whatever role. Louis Koo has also only gone from strength to strength. Eddie is fine too. I’d rather have them than weak pretty boy actors for serious movies. Of course i know nothing about this Ashton boy…if he is good as everyone raves…hopefully he gets his chance to shine.

He’s not a flower boy. He’s Kung fu boy. 🙂 Toned, bulky body. Read more about his bio here.
