Synopsis (best translation I can write at the moment, maybe I should read the novel now): In the ancient times, 6th Prince Mu Yun Sheng (Huang Xuan) was born. Because his mom is a demon (takeaway is…she’s not human), he is not loved by the Emperor, and lives in seclusion and loneliness. He happens to obtain an antique painting of a spirit demon and befriends the little trapped being (*tears*). Both promise to escape to the world’s most beautiful place. Mu Ru Han Jiang (Shawn Dou), son of a general, is elected to be the prince’s friend since he was young. Their peaceful days end when the eight tribes rebel. Mu Ru army fails to protect the royal family and is then exiled, breaking the friendship formed between the two families – Mu Yun and Mu Run. A few years later, a new rebellion threatens the royal family and this time, adult Mu Ru Han Jiang is the only one capable of protecting them. Pain and sorrows of past wounds now manifest in the new generation.

This teaser is seriously on a whole way different level than the rest of Cdramas’ trailer, nothing to worry about the cast too. I checked the writers’ track record on douban but apparently nothing impressive comes out so I’m kinda worried about the writing. Is the novel good? Any possible airing date?

I’m more committed to check out the novel now so I can’t say for sure if it’s good. The drama adaptation doesn’t get that much buzz compared to other projects out there. It needs more love! Just look at the awesomeness in that trailer! =D

I have to ask the same question; series or movie?? I am loving the quality of the production here. The previous post does say it’s a drama adaptation but the trailer really makes me unsure. But hoping it really is a series because I’m loving the look of it!

Lol@ everyone being confused about the quality. It’s definitely a drama and have been filming for many months already. It kinda went under the radar and the first time I wrote about, it got no attention. XD

Looks Epic! Looking for some of the minor cast like Barbie Hsu, Li Zifeng and Yu Haoming in this but i don’t see them.
I refuse to believe Li Zifeng ever cheated on Zhang Tianai. He has such an innocent face, which is in itself nto enough but they seem to be on good terms and they are all rumors anyway

Lol. When we have great quality, everyone is scared!! Haha, from the previous posts, its a drama adaptation with 50 episodes, and some of the cast have been filming since August of last year. Dont fret ladies!!! Ots real!!!

Like, fantasy done well, too! Way better than half-finished, cheap-looking props and outfits and CGI-infused settings…like this looks like realistic fantasy too, really well done visually.

To be honest I didn’t think much about it from the previous post. Slightly interested because Shawn Duo will be in drama for the first time (?). But the trailer, WOW!! Now it will definitely be in my to-watch list! When are they going to air this? (I hope the drama will be in on par with the trailer, quality-wise! Please have some great writing, pretty pleaseeee…)

Holy shit is right !! Wow I don’t think I’ve been this impressed and intrigued into watching a Cdrama series just by its trailer alone . Looks frickin amazing and I too would’ve thought this is a movie if I didn’t know any better. Hoping this is as great as it looks ! As for Huang Xuan is it just me or this dude literally came out of nowhere and is nabbing big juicy roles left right and center ?first Legend of Mi Yue, Imperial Doctress and now this. Anybody know what the deal is with him? Not particularly appealing but his acting is alright I guess

I don’t know what’s the deal with him but personally I’m glad he’s being picked in famous project because this guy deserves it, he’s much better than the likes of Li Yi Feng or even Wallace Huo. I’m pretty sure he’s not exactly a new guy either, the ones that I know he was in Red Sorghum in 2014 as supporting role and Love is Not for Sale back in 2013 as a lead

Uh oh don’t let the legions of Wallace fangirls hear this LOL. Anyway yea strangely enough Huang Xuan has this strange appeal I don’t know if it’s because he’s growing on me or what. I don’t fiND him particularly charming nor is he classically handsome/ attractive especially with how C-actors are getting really handsome these days but yea he’s getting the job done at least and I’ll give him that he does get better with every work I’ve seen him in . Acting seems ok in that trailer too

Haha I get the serial killer vibe from him too ! He falls into category of people who look better without smiling/all serious looking. Although he isn’t exactly a newcomer like I thought he was it did seem like he burst into the scene all of a sudden with all these recent highly anticipated broadcasts within the last year. I guess it’s just been a good year in terms of his career. I do have to say the more I watch him the more I get the feeling that he’s got potential to be really good. At least i can say he gives an honest performance. Perhaps something producers saw in him hence the work he’s been getting.
