Yep! The fat suit is here. Is it wrong I want to see her in it for a couple of episodes? She looks cute. I can’t remember the last time an actress deliberately gained weight for a role (actual weight gain and not ZLY’s cute puffy face, lol). I only remember Myolie Wu as Fei Tin in To Grow with Love, where she gained 40-50 pounds in a short period. The nine-minute trailer is also unleashed and I’m not very happy with the production company…

- It is no secret that Korean actors speak Korean on the set of Chinese dramas but to think that the production didn’t dub Rain in the trailer is strange and sloppy. Now the whole thing just looks ridiculous to me.
- Luo Jin and Dilraba Dilmurat look good even though she’s way younger.

“It is no secret that Korean actors speak Korean on the set of Chinese dramas but to think that the production didn’t dub Rain in the trailer is strange and sloppy” LOL, personally, it is refreshing watching the preview with no dubbing. This is the first time I watch Korean speaking Korean in a drama and I love their natural voice. When the drama is released, we will no longer be able to watch this drama in its raw stage. Natural voice is the best. 😀 It’s just jarring to hear and try to connect with the “flow” of the conversation with two different languages.

Yes, I watch KDrama but it is the first I hear a Korean speaking in his natural voice in a preview on a Chinese drama. I always only hear the dubbing version. I like hearing how the actors have can act in their own language will not fully understanding the other party.
On the other hand. I do not want to watch a drama that no dubbed, most definitely not. I struggle with even Chinese accents of some actors if they are not dubbed over, like Wallace Chung. He is a Hong Konger and when he speaks mandarin, it sound unnatural, I like to watch a good dubbing over his own voice, I rather they are dubbed. A good dubbing makes the flow if the drama easier for the ears. Thus most Chinese dramas are dubbed, as there are too many different accents in China and it makes watching uncomfortable.
But for a preview, it is fun to watch the original in its raw stage and watching hoe the actors act in multilingual.

Ah…I see. If you watch their behind-the-scene videos posted on youtube, you can hear the original voice of Korean actors.
The dialects/accents don’t bother me because I rely heavily on sub. 🙂 Lucky you!
Most of the time, I like natural voices because dubbed voices can get so squeaky and high-pitched for the girls, especially the girls!

I understand about the dialects/accents not being a bother. It is the same for me when I watch Kdramas. But since I understand Chinese, it becomes different.
I dont know if you follow the KDrama “Blood”? There were lots of complaints on Goo Hye-Sun’s fake heavy accent. Which i have to add, did not bother me at all watching it as I rely on sub only. Her accent did not bother me thus I can watch the drama without a problem with her character. I wish I can say the same about the male lead actor.
I do agree, there are a few Chinese actress/ subbers voice that is not comfortable watching. I like Tang Yan and adorable Zhao Liying own voice. But Zheng Shuang’s voice is too annoying for me.

Korean accents – I can tell the difference and it doesn’t bother me because it’s unique and part of the character. I’m not watching Blood, btw.
Chinese accents – I recognize them on Chinese Variety Shows and I’m okay with them too. I guess in general, my not understanding helps me enjoy the various accents. Definitely agreed about Zheng Shuang’s voice being too much. Lol.

The whole fat suit and 200 lb storyline reminds me of 200 lb of beauty. I’m interested to see how this one turns out! But to be honest I feel a little bit meh about the whole using plastic surgery to change oneself for a crush… seems really superficial, and reminds me of birth of a beauty which i hated for that same reason.
Also, yeah the trailer is really weird. I mean they subtitled Rain, but didn’t bother to dub him? Anyway, he has been in a lot of Chinese productions lately, huh? I guess after the attempt to enter the American market failed miserably, he has changed gears for China?

Am I the only one whobthinks this is insulting to chinese audience? He gets the biggest paycheck, doesnt speak korean and is the male lead over Luo Jin? Where is the effort and hard work?? Its all about the money. Im so upset.

As a Luo Jin fan, I don’t find it to be insulting. I do agree with you that it’s about the money ultimately. Rain has a bigger following than Luo Jin so naturally producers will want to bank on him. The same thing would most likely happen if Luo Jin was as big as a star as Rain. It’s like this in any setting, it seems.

I believe that whoever uploaded the clip has done a little damage.It’s “unofficial” trailer and so called “pre-screening”.That’s the reason Rain’s unique voice is not dubbed and the whole production is all chaotic.Just be patient and wait for the official(original) material.It all will make sense then.

i dont think it matters? all the scenes are there. like the OP said, its not a secret and rain’s dubbed voice will not change anything for the storyline. lols.

The same with me.I also prefer the original voices as they sound more natural.As for the moment,i am just enjoying all the material that is out.I also like the comedy/drama feel to the plot.I really hope that it will be possible to watch the series with English subtitles.

i got speechless everytime i saw an article about Tang yan’s new drama/movie. she’s everywhere.. wow..
and now, working with Rain, emm.. i miss him acting like his character in Full House. nowadays he loves to act cool and even cold 😛 instead of being cool, he looked expressionless for me, no offense.
my question is why C-audiences love Rain? that’s the reason he’s in some Cdramas and movies, right? 😀
