Zhao Li Ying’s 1980s drama The City Maker with Huang Xiao Ming wrapped up filming

Lol. This drama is so secretive. Nothing at all during filming and then boom, we are done. But honestly, they finished filming a while ago, in late March I believe and only chosen today to release some materials. XD

The City Maker (造城者) is adapted from the novel written by Zhu Xiao Jun. It is set in the 1980s and as the name of the drama suggests, they are literally building a city from scratch.

I spy the villain from the Legend of Fei and the smexy snake lady from Legend of Shen Li (they have become very good friends)!

Zhou Yu Tong accompanies pregnant mom Wu Yue in upcoming modern drama Me and My Family

Now this is an interesting premise (with the potential to be heart-tugging/heart-breaking) for a drama to have in recent memory. Me and My Family (180天重启计划) is adapted from the novel written by Chu Tang. The story follows recently unemployed female lead who decides to move back in with her mother for some comfort. Turns out her newly remarried mother is pregnant at 48 and our FL finds herself navigating a wave of emotions and dynamics in the new family.

Jing Tian reigns in The Legend of Xiao Zhuang’s long trailer

I’m kinda mesmerized by how stunning Jing Tian looks in period costumes. Such perfect, pale skin. The Legend of Xiao Zhuang depicts the love triangle between a Mongolian Princess, Da Yu Er (later known as Xiao Zhuang, mother to Shunzhi Emperor, and grandmother to Kangxi Emperor) with two Manchurian Princes. The older being Hong Taiji, the first Qing emperor, and his 14th brother, general Dorgon. It is said that she fell for Dorgon first but was married to Hong Taiji in fictional romance. The story has been dramatized before in 2003 starring Steven Ma, Ning Jing and Liu De Kai. I don’t remember much about this version…
