– After receiving a slap from her own mother, Eun Jo hangs out at the river side. She plans on running away with a small luggage containing: 2 pair of undergarments, 1 summer clothing and one for winter, a book to read and of course her bank book! Unfortunately (or should I say the opposite?) Ki Hoon comes to her rescue! While trying to grab hold of her, HOHOHO, he drops the hairpin!

At home, father Dae Sung tells wife Kang Sook not to do hit Eun jo, he’s embarrassed. She continues in tears.

Kang Sook: “I’ve been receiving suspicious glances. I’m afraid other people might hate my daughter for mistreating yours! I’m afraid of what other people would think!”

Dae Sung: *sits down* “What? Who gave you suspicious glances?”

I absolutely love Kang Sook, she’s one hilarious, and manipulative women. So far she hasn’t done anything evil yet, merely showing off her authority to the servants. I still can’t erase her crying face from last episode when she receives the Marriage Certificate and calls herself an old B word. haha XD

– While scurrying away from Ki Hoon, Eun Jo falls and scrapes her knee (Ki hoon trips over a rock a second before). Stubborn and daring as she is, she reveals no weakness at the hospital whereas we see a wobbling Ki Hoon making faces as the hospital staffs work on her wound.

– Oi, our innocent Hyo Sun waits patiently for Kang Sook outside.

Hyo Sun: “Umma, where did you hear those words? My friends said they never made fun of Eun Jo because our last names were different. I asked every one of them. So I was wondering where you hear those words.”

Instead of answering, Kang Sook slowly caresses Hyo Sun’s hair.

Kang Sook: “I must’ve mistaken. Let’s forget such a thing ever happened. And never mention it again, okay?”

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– Limping her way into the house, Eun Jo discovers a bitter scene – Hyo Sun’s head on Kang Sook’s lap, and they are both sleeping soundlessly. My heart aches for her, but the weird thing is her mother loves her but circumstances prevent them from bonding under this roof. That night, Ki Hoon hurriedly studies Spanish words because Eun Jo demands him to teach her Spanish, however, the latter doesn’t know the language himself. His pronunciation of “errrrr”… is 😀

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– During tutoring hours of the next day, Ki Hoon is fed-up with Eun Jo’s attitude and behavior – she never lets others finish their sentence before jumping right in. Quickly, she adds “Okay” in a respectful manner.

Ki Hoon: “For today, let’s learn the Spanish alphabet.”

Eun Jo: “I learned the alphabet by myself last night already. So what’s next?”

Ki Hoon: “What?”

Since he doesn’t know anything else, Ki Hoon sneakily changes the subject to her favorite – the farthest place to Korea I guess? because Eun Jo still wants to escape from her Umma’s world. When the place gets rowdy with people, Ki Hoon thinks it’s the perfect time to end class, or you could say – to end his impending embarrassment.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– Turns out there’s a birthday party for father Dae Sung and Hyo Sun prepares two gifts to give to their father (one for herself and one for Eun Jo). Eun Jo’s cell phone rings. It’s cutie pie Jung Woo calling! ^_^

Jung Woo: “Noona, it’s Jung Woo, how come you aren’t answering your phone? While gambling, he lost all the money he earned from selling you two off. He left the house saying he wants to see your mother! After hearing that, my heart started to pound! I feel like dying! Sis, do well. And you probably forgot about me already… It’s okay! As long as I don’t forget…I will take care of you!” *phone’s voice-mail is limited*

Did I say this kid is irresistible? No wonder why Eun Jo has a soft spot for him. I do too! HOHO!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– Eun Jo returns home, Hyo Sun approaches her hoping to give her the prepared present. However, Eun Jo doesn’t accept her kindness….

Eun Jo: “It would be nice if you understand what I’m saying. Don’t annoy me.”

Hyo Sun: “Unnie, You’re scaring me, why are you doing this?” Eun Jo turns to leave. “Unnie, your phone was ringing and someone left a voice mail.”

I felt really bad for Hyo Sun here, she has tried everything in her power to approach and be liked by Eun Jo but the latter merely snickers at her futile attempts. Next goal for Hyo Sun, try to understand and don’t bother/annoy Eun Jo. Try to not invade her space. If I were Hyo Sun, heck you would never see me around Eun Jo again after being rejected at most two times.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– The drunkard aka Ex-stepfather makes his way into the house. But the surprising thing is he didn’t go and make a scene after seeing how happy Kang Sook is singing the song he taught her. The man has a heart?!
Eun Jo comes outside and finds him leaning against the wall, sobbing. When he refuses to move, she drags him by the collar until they come face to face with Ki Hoon. He didn’t question her and brings them to their secret wine cellar and leaves after saying, “I’ll go outside, call me if you need me.”

Eun Jo: “Shall I kill you?”
Drunkard: “Kill me!”
Eun Jo: “I really want to kill you! Are you crazy?”
Drunkard: “Can I live without being crazy? My life without Kang Sook. She’s not with me, how can I live without going crazy?” Oi, grow a spine MAN!
Eun Jo: “You should die then. Since Kang Sook is no longer in your life.”
Drunkard: “Don’t be like that, I loved your mom.”
Eun Jo:*scoffs* “Are you talking about the WOMAN you sold off for a little amount of money?”
Drunkard: “Stop acting like you’re so great. When you see that amount of money, you will become like that! I came here to see your mom! I didn’t come here to ask for money. Kang Sook, just once!”

Eun Jo:”Do you have everything like this? A big house? Huge basement? Aunt, uncle, great uncle? Do you have a family like this? If you don’t then come back when you do! Then, the woman that you miss, even if I tried to stop her, will come back to you. The only things you have are a broken-down house, violent habits, drinking addiction, and debts. Your body and heart are rotten too!!”

Drunkard: “Stop it.”

Eun Jo: “Why? Does it hurt your pride to hear this from a young person? Do you have any pride to begin with?”

Drunkard: “I SAID STOP IT!”

Eun Jo: “Then BRING THEM! Bring something more impressive than what we have here! Before that happens, don’t ever show your face around here again!! If you don’t appear, I will believe that you loved my mother. If not, I will take you as someone who came to beg for money.”

Sigh, everyone is so pitiful in this family. While Eun Jo is battling to save her mother’s happiness, her mother is being smitten inside. She loves her mother, no matter what she says or thinks. Wouldn’t it be funny if this drunkard takes Eun Jo’s words to heart and becomes a rich man 8 years later? Whoa! That would be so shocking, him challenging Eun Jo in the business world!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– Eun Jo asks Ki Hoon to kill that man for her but of course Ki Hoon volunteers to bring him home and tells her to not worry, go inside and eat something. He’s the sweetest guy. Father Dae Sung asks Kang Sook to check in on Eun Jo. She tells her mother to get out!

Eun Jo: “Why did you bring me here?! You didn’t need me. Since you can eat and live well without me around.”

Kang Sook: “Who did I do this for? For whom?”

Eun Jo: “Do you even know that I have stitches on my knee? Since you were busy acting like a new mistress, I went around the house with bandages on for days and YOU didn’t even notice it once? and what? FOR ME? Because of ME?”

Kang Sook: “You have stitches on your knee?” *gasps when she sees it* “When did this happen?”

Eun Jo: “Never lay a hand on me. Try and do that!”

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– Again, bad timing for Hyo Sun. Eun Jo declares that she dislikes Hyo Sun.

Eun Jo: “You dislike me too right?”

Hyo Sun: “No…”

Eun Jo: “There’s no way you would like me. There’s nothing likable about me. So how can you say you like me?”

Hyo Sun insists that she likes Eun Jo but Eun Jo replies hating her would be more natural. The father overhears their conversation. In her room, Eun Jo calls Jung Woo to check Ki Hoon’s whereabouts. Jung Woo persists that she listens to what he has to say!

Jung Woo: “Sis, to me, You’re my woman! Saranghae! I love you!” hangs up the phone and starts to roll on his mat saying, “I finally told her!” This kid makes me smile like a babo okay…! I can’t wait to see how Taec pulls off this role. Hope him the best!

– Late that night, Eun Jo waits for Ki Hoon outside, not knowing that he has been through a painful event today. I have no idea that Ki Hoon has a stepmother (he could be Hoonerella too right? haha XD). His father confesses that he needs Ki Hoon because he has no one by his side and has been mistreated like Ki Hoon right now… Ki Hoon reveals that the man needs his stock shares and not him.

-Okay, raise your hand if you experienced the following symptoms while watching this semi-hug scene: 1) shortness of breath, 2) butterflies tickling your stomach, 3) non-stop spazzing & giggling (cute!cute!), 4) Replay it for the 20th times, and lastly 5) Make a visual representation! avatar/siggie…

Eun Jo: *to herself*: “Eun Jo ah…he called me…”

Ki Hoon: *whispers painfully* “Eun Jo ah, I’m hungry…”

I need to find the instrument plays during this scene! It’s so sentimental!! And aren’t they amazing? They barely talk but the chemistry they emit is frying me! The morning scene is cute when he just gobbles down the cold food. But not so much for Hyo Sun who is again, ignored.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– In the morning, father Dae Sung interrogates why Ki Hoon disappears without telling him. Ki Hoon apologizes but it’s not until Hyo Sun jumps in that he is rescued.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
– I was crossing my fingers real hard for Hyo Sun here. She is like a kid (well, she is one in here) asking for her sister’s love. Since everyone is busy next week and wouldn’t be able to attend her ballet competition, she is hoping that Eun Jo could come…Aww! And when Eun Jo sighs….

Hyo Sun: “I know what that sigh means. You’re tired of me right? I know that but I still don’t understand what you mean by fooling myself…I know that you hate me, but it’s okay, continue to hate me, I’ll still continue to like you so don’t tell me to hate you. I can do anything to make you happy…except for hating you.”

I wonder whether Hyo Sun’s words have touched Eun Jo, even if it’s only slightly? On her way home, Eun Jo sees Ki Hoon with a woman at the river side. Frustrated, she walks home to find Dong Su sneaking in front of their house. Inside, her mother is cutting Hyo Sun’s toenails….

Inside their room, Hyo Sun prepares a cake to celebrate Eun Jo moving into her own room. Angry, Eun Jo asks her, “Since you like me so much, can you give me everything I want?” Of course, Hyo Sun nods a “yes”. One shouldn’t agree so willingly….knowing that the person asking is Eun Jo! Whaa!

Eun Jo claims that Dong Su wants to date her and gives her this bouquet! (she didn’t know Dong Su really did want to date her and thinks it’s for Hyo Sun). But there’s a card in there and Hyo Sun reads that it is indeed to Eun Jo.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
-I’m telling you this, never touch another woman’s man. It can get really ugly. Hyo Sun goes out of the room and returns as a different person – her princess aura gone!

Hyo Sun: “…beggar…”

Eun Jo: “What did you say?”

Hyo Sun: “BEGGAR!! GET OUT!”

Wow, what an intense episode (didn’t expect that from our little princess but hey, everyone has their limits), a little bit of everything tossed into a great drama with solid acting from all the actors and actresses. I’m loving it!
