This is just a hunch, but I think fans of Battle of ChangSha will like this drama adaptation of The Ordinary World by Lu Yao. A book about the ordinary world full of extraordinary people? What’s not to like from that tagline? The story follows the lives of many families as they struggle against the sweeping changes in the rural areas of Northern China in the 1970s and 80s.

Wang Lei and Yuan Hong are our protagonists. Wang Lei is the older brother, Sun Shao An, while the latter is the younger brother, Sun Shao Ping (stating the obvious just in case the wrinkles don’t help.) 😛

The trailer looks really serious! War dramas aren’t my thing because OTP rarely get together and deaths come at huge numbers. Too much tears I need to save!!

It’s not a war drama, it’s about the revolutionary times in 1970-1980s when poor farmers are facing hardships. It focuses on the lives of these families. The trailer looks really good, got goosebumps all over me.

This drama follows after Grow Up, the only cdrama I’m loving currently, I think JiangSu and Dragon TV have good taste, taking My Sunshine, Grow Up and now this one. Another one to anticipate.
