It’s RAINING DRAMAS!! WEEEEEEEE~~ Lol. This is gonna be a hot mess or maybe it’s the best time to be a cdrama fan as all three dramas just confirmed their airing date! Are you watching all three? Or just one? Or two?? My top one is Song Zu Er and Liu Yu Ning’s The Prisoner of Beauty, and if I have time, The Legend of Zang Hai. Have never watched Xiao Zhan in anything and he’s very popular, so I’m curious!

Yu Meng Long and Miao Miao sweat it off in Unstoppable Youth

What a beautiful duo. Miao Miao (Youth) might be one of the few new faces this year who is classified as beautiful instead of cute. Then you see pretty boy Alan Yu Meng Long by her side…and it’s so bright! Lol. They star alongside each other in the modern drama Unstoppable Youth with the focus on volleyball as the central sport. A new behind-the-scene footage is released and you can see the cast members practicing day and night, acquiring new injuries on set.

Drama The Left Ear with Zheng Kai and Mi Mi to air in August 2017

Wow. I can’t believe it’s been two years since the last time I wrote about youth drama, The Left Ear (左耳). As a refresher, it’s adapted from a Chinese novel about teenage love and regrets written by Rao Xue Man. It was adapted before into a movie featuring Yang Yang and Sandra Ma in 2015. The drama version features a wagon of pretty faces and let’s hope for more emotional beats with depth and developments.

Zheng Kai, Huang Ren De lead drama version of The Left Ear

In light of the drama version news, I finally sat down to watch Alec Su‘s directorial debut of the movie adaptation and I’m left emotionally unmoved. The plot moved so quickly without a moment for the characters to breathe and for repercussions to sting, leaving me without a connection to the characters. It didn’t help that the characters were pretty unlikable. Lol. I think a drama version would’ve been better road to take. The Left Ear is a Chinese novel about teenage love and regrets written by Rao Xue Man. Our heroine, Li Er, is a 17-year old high-school student with a deaf left ear. She has a crush on the top kid at school and befriends a rebellious bar girl of the same age. Her world takes a turn when the said bar girl is tasked by the boy’s half brother to ruin him. The bar girl accomplishes her mission but at a great price.
