Zhao Li Ying looking chic and sleek in promo pictures for Raya and the Last Dragon

My fangirl heart is bursting! Li Ying looks amazing in these pictures! The sleek ponytail might be my favorite look of hers. If you didn’t know already, Li Ying is the voice actress (China Region) for the heroine in Disney’s film, Raya and the Last Dragon (寻龙传说), which came out last friday 3/5! The script is penned by Vietnamese American writer Qui Nguyen and the Chinese Malaysian writer Adele Lim. I have yet to watch it but we are planning on a live-watch party on our Discord soon!

Photos are huge, post might take a while to load. 😉

[Discussion Post] Legend of Fei Episode 49 – 51 FINALE Recap (SPOILERS ALERT)

Fei has come to an end. This is a quick and dirty summary of the last three episodes for those interested! Sorry if there are mistakes, I wrote it after a long shift with crossed eyes. XD Depending on time, I might write a separate post for my thoughts on the series as a whole (the good, the bad, and the ugly).

First Impression: What do you think of Legend of Fei with Zhao Li Ying and Wang Yi Bo?

Legend of Fei (有翡) is based on the novel You Fei/Bandits (有匪) written by Priest. It sounds like your typical wuxia drama that takes place during the Northern and Southern dynasties (?), where legends have fallen to the chaotic world, allowing room for the new rising heroes of the pugilistic world, some of which are our leading lady and man, Zhou Fei (Zhao Li Ying) and Xie Yun (Wang Yi Bo). Our female lead grew up in a neutral zone where there is no war, known collectively as the 48 tribes, so she leads a pretty peaceful life. That changes when her father is invited to join the Southern region, and she is forced to enter jianghu shortly after. Our male lead is an optimist, who knows a lot about the world because he has basically done a lot of jobs. His expertise? Running away and talking his way in/out of things (Lol). During our female lead’s journey, he is there to help her as she slowly becomes a hero in her own right.

Began airing 12/16 ~

Legend of Fei drops new stills and behind-the-scene filming

On the one hand, I desperately want to see this drama because I love Li Ying in ancient costumes and the wuxia aspect of it; but on the other hand, I don’t want it to air, afraid that it might be a while before I see her in action again. The rumored air date floating around the net is 12/18 BUT it hasn’t been confirmed yet so don’t get too excited.

The team dropped a new behind-the-scene video a few days ago and followed that with a new batch of stills today.

Here’s a long compilation of teasers and trailers released at various events this past week such as the iQiYi iJoy and Tencent video conference. Sorry, I can’t physically make 20+ separate posts for each of them. I think I have written about the majority before so it’s nothing new. Just a peek from different online platforms for what’s coming up next for them.

Which ones are you looking forward to?

Zhao Li Ying confirmed for Zheng Xiao Long’s The Story of Xing Fu

Yay! Li Ying is back to dramaland again, and this time working with Empresses In the Palace‘s director Zheng Xiao Long in the drama adaption of Zhang Yi Mou’s The Story of Qiu Ju, which was also based on Chen Yuan Bin’s novella. The drama version will be called The Story of Xing Fu (幸福到万家). I like how this is a full circle for Li Ying as she made her acting debut in Golden Marriage also directed by Zheng Xiao Long back in 2007. The writer is Zhao Dong Ling who also wrote Wang Kai’s Hunting recently.
