First trailer for Hawick Lau’s The Legend of Jade Sword

If that thing with many sharp teeth were chasing me, I wouldn’t look that calm and elegant. Lol.

Based on a popular Chinese Xianxia web novel, Desolate Era (莽荒纪), written by I Eat Tomatoes, the story follows a young man plagued with illness all his life and eventually succumbed. Due to his kind nature, he is reincarnated, given a second chance at life (without having to drink the bowl of forgetful soup) and enters the immortal realm. He realizes he’s meant for bigger things, yunno, like avenging for his family and saving this clan/world from extinction. He trains hard to become a power player in this world.

Hawick Lau’s The Legend of Jade Sword drops BTS and new stills

You don’t know how much work is put into these costume productions until you watch their BTS videos. It’s crazy! Props to all the production crew and staff members! It makes you want to forgive and overlook all its misgivings. Lol. The Legend of Jade Sword (aka Desolate Era, 莽荒纪) follows the story of young man plagued with illness all his life and eventually succumbed. However, since he was a kind person, he’s given a second chance at life (without having to drink the bowl of forgetful soup) and enters the immortal realm. Extended Trailer for Wilber Pan and Xu Lu’s Be With You

Don’t get fooled by the above photo. This is a straight-up melo drama. If wuxia, period, and modern rom-coms don’t fit your bill, here’s a melo for those itching to cry and pull out their hair this January. SAY WHAT? Yep. No breathing room at all. Be With You (不得不爱) is adapted from the novel Every Step Is Wrong, written by Lan Bai Se, the same author behind Loving Never Forgetting with Jerry Yan and Tong Li Ya. Wilber Pan and Xu Lu play our OTP and they are not nice people. *prays to my land lord that our female lead DOES actually inflict damage and pain*

What? EVIL?

Yea…

I….am. =P

Cdramas to start filming in Winter 2016 Batch 1

You know when I write about dramas, I rarely sit down and count them? Until I do and the list is humongous! There are about 20+ chinese dramas set to start filming in the winter of 2016, as you might already notice from the onslaught of press conferences and booting ceremonies this past week. To keep me sane, I have compiled the first batch here. Hee!

A Yun Ga sings Opening Themesong for Border Town Prodigal

New voice! A Yun Ga (阿云嘎), a graduate from Beijing Dance Academy (in the musical department), 2014 Champion of Super Mr., and a runner-up for many singer shows including Rising Star, is chosen to sing the themesong for the remake of Border Town Prodigal, the first part of the Flying Dagger trilogy written by Gu Long. I love it when they step out of the usual pot of themesong singers and give a new voice a chance to shine! And I kinda love this song! His voice sounds surprisingly very old-schooled. I don’t think that’s the right word… but in any case, it’s nice! hehe.

Extended Trailer for Zhu Yi Long’s Border Town Prodigal

Am I giving you guys too much Zhu Yi Long lately? Or is that a silly question? Bordertown Wanderer is one of Gu Long‘s novels, sequel to The Little Li Flying Dagger and first part of the Flying Dagger trilogy. I still can’t over their hairstyles….could they walk through regular framed doors? I actually thought I posted the trailer somewhere before… but only the 5-minute version. This one is a bit longer…but I’m still having Déjà vu of watching it before. Lol. Anyhow, more pretty pictures!
