Yang Rong and Yang Xu Wen in Ghost Catcher Zhong Kiu’s Record

For those of you who wonder what Yang Rong is filming that conveniently clashes with Yu Zheng’s drama, it’s fantasy drama, Ghost Catcher Zhong Kiu’s Record (钟馗捉妖记), which started filming on 11/16. Yang Rong’s co-stars are getting younger and younger. Lol. With Bai Yu born in 1989, in this one, Yang Rong will be romancing everyone’s favorite Qing Long gege, Yang Xu Wen, born in 1994. According to Chinese folklore, Zhong Kiu is in charge of relinquishing demons and evil beings. His story is of a sad one. After he passed the imperial examination, he was stripped of the honors for having a disfigured appearance. In anger, he committed suicide at the palace gate and upon meeting the King of Hell, he was granted the power to hunt and capture ghosts, in an effort to keep order. In this new adaptation, Yang Xu Wen takes on the titular role as young Zhong Kiu who is sent down to Earth to experience the turbulence of human life without his memory.

IQiyi All-Star Carnival Night 2017

I anticipated the whole week for this event until the bomb dropped last night that Li Ying wouldn’t be able to attend because she needed to film an important scene for her movie, Ride the Winds Break the Waves, with Eddie and Deng Chao. Sigh….. Her manager went in her stead and she won Artist of the Year Award. Most of the attendees were Li Ying’s co-stars too! Good thing they have a good variety of stars to reel me back in. heh. The pretty!

Yang Rong, Hawick Lau’s The Legend of Flying Daggers to air

Good or bad news… With Hawick Lau‘s scandal still lingering, I feel bad for Yang Rong and the whole cast ensemble. Legend of the Flying Daggers is the fifth and final installment to Gu Long‘s Little Li Flying Dagger series. FYI, Zhu Yi Long’s Border Town Prodigal is the third installment. The novel follows Li Huai, Li Xun Huan’s grandson, as he wanders in jianghu to help the poor and uphold justice using his grandfather’s Little Li Dagger technique. How I wish Hawick could use those little daggers in real life and cut off the scandalous tail he has acquired for himself. Spare us and Yang Mi the pain. Lol.

Yu Zheng confirms Merxat as Rong Zhi in Feng Qiu Huang

Well, Yang Rong finally has her male lead for the upcoming drama adaptation of novel Feng Qiu Huang (凤囚凰) written by Tian Yi You Feng. It’s actor Merxat, one of Yu Zheng’s well-known group of pretty talents. You might remember him most recently in Memory Lost and Demon Girl. Feng Qiu Huang follows the story of a modern girl who wakes up one day and finds herself in the body of Liu Chu Yu, a princess of the Liu Song Dynasty. The princess is known for telling her younger brother, Emperor Qianfei, about the unfairness in his harem verses hers, at which he granted her thirtysomething male concubines. That sounds awesome… only now our heroine has to finds way to survive, knowing that history isn’t on her brother’s side (he’s overthrown). Dun dun dun!!!
