Supernatural costume drama The Demon Hunter’s Romance with Ren Jia Lun and Song Zu Er airdrops today!

The Demon Hunter’s Romance (无忧渡) is adapted from a novel written by Ban Ming Ban Mei.

Synopsis Per Qiyi: It tells the romantic love story of Xuan Ye, a mysterious demon hunter, and Ban Xia, a young girl. Together, they navigate a world where humans and demons coexist and embark on thrilling and mysterious adventures. In the bustling city of Guangping, humans and demons live side by side, with demons skilled at concealing their true forms by disguising themselves as humans. Ban Xia (played by Song Zu’er), a wealthy young woman, possesses a pair of peculiar eyes that can see through the illusions of these creatures. Despite her efforts to conform and be obedient, she is often labeled as “crazy” behind her back due to her ability. When she uncovers the secret that her sister-in-law is a demon, she becomes the target of pursuit and crosses paths with Xuan Ye (played by Ren Jialun), a demon hunter. With a gentle kiss, Xuan Ye allows Ban Xia to fully see the world where humans and demons coexist. Together, they investigate various strange incidents in Guangping City, such as the healing power of the Biyu Pear, the Nine Lives Cat, the Guangping Spring Dawn Painting, and the Cycle of Rebirth, and their relationship grows increasingly intimate. However, Xuan Ye carries a secret that repeatedly pushes Ban Xia away, as he gradually discovers the possibility that he himself may also be a demon.

Ren Jia Lun and Song Zu Er begin filming for The Demon Hunter’s Romance

The Demon Hunter’s Romance (无忧渡) is a historical fantasy romance drama adapted from a novel written by Ban Ming Ban Mei. Our male lead is a black panther demon who hails from a family that guards the origin of evil. After an incident happened to his parents, our male lead rarely smiles. He accepts his responsibility, helping demons and other worldly beings let go of their hatred, solve their troubles, so they can cross peacefully to the other side. Our heroine’s a human girl with yin yang eyes, allowing her to see the inner thoughts of demons and spirits. While other people believe that her father died, she knows that the buried body isn’t his. They consider her a strange girl spilling nonsense so she sets out to look for her father, joining our male lead on his journey, slowly opening up his heart again.

The Golden Hairpin with Yang Zi and Kris Wu wrapped up filming after 230 days!

This is one long production! More than half a year to finish filming! Now let the post-production editing begins. Both leads wrote a lengthy appreciation post on their respective weibos to thank the director and staff. The newly released BTS video shows both of them having a blast together as well. I didn’t expect anything less from the mischievous Yang Zi!

The Golden Hairpin (青簪行) is based on the novel written by Ce Ce Qing Han. The story follows our female lead who made quite an impression at the tender age of 13 when she begins helping her dad solve murder cases. When she turns 17, her life takes a dive as she’s on the run, accused of murdering her own family to escape an arranged marriage. During her run, she meets Prince Li (4th son of the Emperor) and is involved in the conspiracies of the princes and her detective skills are put to test when Prince Li’s soon-to-be wife disappears/dies. In exchange for his help to clear her name, she becomes his eunuch, helping him on the side.
