Xianxia drama Lin Jiang Xian with Bai Lu and Zeng Shun Xi wrapped up filming

Lin Jiang Xian (临江仙) is an original screenplay, produced by Yu Zheng aka Yumama. Like his previous productions, he has been teasing fans with tidbits and an abundance of stills. I kinda like that we don’t know much about the story so no comparisons like a lot of novel-to-drama adaptations these days.

Enjoy the stills below!

The First Frost with Bai Jing Ting and Zhang Ruo Nan wrapped up filming

The First Frost (难哄) is adapted from the novel written by Zhu Yi and if you remember, it’s the spinoff to Zhao Lu Si’s Hidden Love. This is her brother (Sang Yan)’s story. He is now the owner of a bar and chances upon an old classmate who had crush on him back in high school. Our female lead is a reporter and even though she realizes who he is, she pretends not to know him – and he does the same thing. Something happens and they end up being housemates. Lol.Shi Cheng

Looks kinda angsty here!

Night Wanderer wrapped up filming with Ni Ni and Deng Lun and released new trailer

Republican Time-Travel drama Night Wanderer (夜旅人) has officially wrapped up filming a few days ago and dropped some new stills and a new trailer! It is adapted from the novel written by Zhao Xi Zhi and follows two individuals: our heroine is from the year 2015 and she’s famous female forensic doctor, returning home from a murder scene and witnessing the corridor lights flicker. On the same night but in 1937, our hero – a lawyer in Shanghai also returns home when the lights go out. The time and space of these two people are connected by a lamp. He’s described as gentle, old-fashioned, and righteous, while she’s described as cool, calm, and courageous. The first time they meet, he’s in no hurry as he helps her to the hospital with a black umbrella. The second time they meet, he has become her tenant, holding a tenant contract from 1937. Lol. Their love transcends time and space, and once it explodes, it’s eternal.

Ren Jia Lun and Bai Lu looking tragically beautiful for Forever And Ever (Beautiful Bones)’s historical segment

Alright, alright. They wrapped up filming for the modern segment of the novel a few months back, and now they have also wrapped up filming for the historical/ancient segment. Some new stills of the cast are released! As always, the fan-taken photos are equally if not more beautiful than the official ones. Lol.

One Life, One Reincarnation – Beautiful Bones (一生一世美人骨) is adapted from Mo Bao Fei Bao’s novel starring Ren Jia Lun and Bai Lu. Beautiful bones here refer to the person’s inner beauty as opposed to beauty that is outside – on the skin. The drama will have two parts, one sets in the ancient times, and another in the modern world as both of our leads reincarnated a thousand years later. In their previous lives, their love story ended tragically, and when given a second chance in a new world, what will happen to them? Our male lead doesn’t have memories of the past life, but our female lead does retain the feelings and memories. Oy! She recognizes him the moment they meet again and will chase after him despite the changes and challenges ahead.

Body-Swapping shenanigans in The Day of Becoming You with Zhang Xin Cheng and Liang Jie

The Day of Becoming You (变成你的那一天) is an upcoming romantic comedy with Zhang Xin Cheng and Liang Jie. The story follows leader of a popular boyband swapping soul/body with a reporter on the same birthday. Suddenly and unprepared, they begin to navigate their different lives and roles in life, by guiding and covering up for each other. And of course, they gradually become closer. The body-swapping shenanigans remind me of Korean drama Secret Garden except she’s not a stunt-woman who uses her fist but a reporter who uses her pen (words)!

First Impression: What do you think of Legend of Fei with Zhao Li Ying and Wang Yi Bo?

Legend of Fei (有翡) is based on the novel You Fei/Bandits (有匪) written by Priest. It sounds like your typical wuxia drama that takes place during the Northern and Southern dynasties (?), where legends have fallen to the chaotic world, allowing room for the new rising heroes of the pugilistic world, some of which are our leading lady and man, Zhou Fei (Zhao Li Ying) and Xie Yun (Wang Yi Bo). Our female lead grew up in a neutral zone where there is no war, known collectively as the 48 tribes, so she leads a pretty peaceful life. That changes when her father is invited to join the Southern region, and she is forced to enter jianghu shortly after. Our male lead is an optimist, who knows a lot about the world because he has basically done a lot of jobs. His expertise? Running away and talking his way in/out of things (Lol). During our female lead’s journey, he is there to help her as she slowly becomes a hero in her own right.

Began airing 12/16 ~

Legend of Fei drops new stills and behind-the-scene filming

On the one hand, I desperately want to see this drama because I love Li Ying in ancient costumes and the wuxia aspect of it; but on the other hand, I don’t want it to air, afraid that it might be a while before I see her in action again. The rumored air date floating around the net is 12/18 BUT it hasn’t been confirmed yet so don’t get too excited.

The team dropped a new behind-the-scene video a few days ago and followed that with a new batch of stills today.
