Afraid of not being able to surpass the original song but still wanting to pay tribute to the golden classic, Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 has opted for the instrumental version as its own opening themesong. The original song, “Tit Huet Dam Sum (Iron Blood and Loyal Heart),” was performed flawlessly by Roman Tam and Jenny Tseng, and still a song that frequents any wuxia’s fan favorite playlist, including mine. It was the opening themesong for Legend of the Condor Heroes in 1983 starring Felix Wong, Barbara Yung, and Michael Miu.
Ah, the feels… the feels. More good news at the end. 😉
Sigh. They are so cute but these kids have a lot to live up to, especially in drama adaptations of Jin Yong’s wuxia novels, which have been done many times through the years and some are still considered the golden standards (tvb) even up to this day. The new Legend of of the Condor Heroes has a press conference today and they release a new trailer along with snippets of the opening themesong sang by Silence Wang.
BLAH. What the heck. January will be the death of Cdrama viewers. Here’s another one set to air and competition will be tight among the contenders. Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 is another drama adaptation of Jin Yong‘s novel, first part of his Condor Trilogy, led by new faces Li Yi Tong (Demon Girl) and William Yang Xu Wen (The Legend of Chusen) who played the opposite-attracts OTP, with her being the cunning and shrewd female lead and him being the bumbling honest man every step of the way. The trailer looks good.
I know we were disappointed Janice didn’t get the role but I’m having positive thoughts with Li Yi Tong. She looks so cute and mischievous as a beggar! Acting-wise, we have no clue except for her upcoming drama, Demon Girl, which is airing on June 30th! YESH! I do like that they are using new faces in prominent roles – roles that will get people noticing and talking. Comparison is inevitable but let’s not be too severe. On the other hand, I’m not feeling Yang Xu Wen yet. One really needs to have that special quality for me to accept Guo Jing’s naivety and find him endearing. As a character, he’s too frustratingly nice. Lol.
