Back To 1989: Episode 14 “That Dark Christmas.”

Why…Why. I initially wanted to return to recap this drama because episode 11 blew the angst off the lid and hit me in the heart with more ways than one. Then the tragedy struck this episode and now I’m left dangling with a bruised heart, wavering between wanting to continue and fearing of the repercussions. Why do you have to be so painful, Show? Can’t 1989 be all about the birth of jolly Kappy? I’m not important? Kthanks. WAHH.

Love At Seventeen: Episode 3 “Adulthood.”

Last recap for this drama on my end (not like many are reading!). There is only a handful of times you could shove a scene down my throat and call it romance or the tingling of teenage hormones, director. I thought we had something special, but this episode churned out cliché one after another, and the lead up to the ultimate split was dull and predictable. (Unless they are totally duping me?!)

Love At Seventeen: Episode 2 “Family Reunion.”

There are so some lovely character moments, as well as some in-your-face OTP moments. I know I praised the director before and he still does well in many scenes but can someone walk him out the door when it comes to romantic scenes? Subtlety is not his forte. Lol.

Taiwan to remake It Started With A Kiss with Dino Lee

What is the appeal of this story anyway? Everyone chases to make their own adaptation. No one can appear as clueless as Ariel Lin, feel as spunky as Jung So Min, and look as adorable as Honoka Miki. The girl is the heart of the series and I find myself not as drawn to the female lead as the past versions. Playing the ultimate high IQ robot boy is Dino Lee and you might remember him in the hit movie Our Times as the perfect handsome student. His loyal, dim ladylove will be played by Esther Wu. Nope, I have nothing concrete about this young actress. *shrugs*

Love At Seventeen: Episode 1 “Deftly Directed.”

Looks like Tdramaland is littered with leads looking for their parents. Lol. Or am I just naturally drawn to that aspect of a drama? Love At Seventeen premiered last weekend to a strong start. The first thing that stood out was the deft hands directing the scenes with a purpose to impact. Along with being in capable hands, we also have a batch of likable characters with a story tell.

Back To 1989: Episode 1 “Saving the Damsel.”

Taking a break to watch some dramas! A few weeks ago, Yui recommended two dramas for me to watch. Both are Taiwanese dramas, 1) Refresh Man with Aaron Yan and Joanne Tseng and 2) Back To 1989 with a cast I’m unfamiliar with. My choice? Fresh faces! And I also like the synopsis much better. A sharply-dressed man accidentally time-travels to the year before his birth to meet his mom and find the truth about his missing father. Sounds good.
