If you must know of my opinion on The Swordsman 2013, I’ll be honest: I’m terribly disappointed. Unfortunately, the wuxia aspect was glossed over, the fight scenes were short and laughably inefficient. It was pretty to look at, but at some point I wanted substance and a coherent story-telling. Why LHC fell heads over heels for RYY is still beyond my comprehension. Yu Zheng focused too much attention on DFBB and how to make her romance as tragic as possible that he forgot about the other important factors (logic, audience, flow, etc…) Le Sigh~
Is there a scene where Qiao En look imperfect? Girl looks beautiful in all her outfits. Except for the parrot one.
It’s strange that we haven’t seen a lot of Han Dong stills. In The Swordsman, he plays Tian Boguang, a lecherous bandit whose shameless behavior is stopped by Ling Hu Chong when he advances on poor Yilin, a disciple of the Mount Heng Sect. In the following stills, we see how an injured Dong Fang Bu Bai (DFBB) subdues this wild man. Joe Chen looks so pretty….For all the wrongs that Yu Zheng commits to this adaptation, I’m still looking forward to this sizzling mess.
Yes, yes. The premiere date is set: February 5 on Hunan TV! Mark your calendar, folks! And from the trailer alone, I’m rapidly shipping Wallace with Qiao En. They’re just so angsty and inappropriate! What have you done to me, Yu Zheng!?
Now I need to rewatch the old versions as I don’t quite remember the storyline anymore. Produced by Yu Zheng and based on the wuxia novel written by Jin Yong called The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, this new adaptation recently releases a stunning trailer to build up anticipation for its 2013 premiere.
Joe Chen Qiao En is a stunner in this series (when she’s dressed as a woman), and is probably going to overshadow the other ladies surrounding Wallace Huo‘s Ling Hu Chong.
ha! This is hilarious: Netizens finding the parrot version of each character in the upcoming Cdrama The Swordsman. So Yu Zheng is back with another adaptation, this time it’s Louis Cha’s wuxia novel called Xiao Ao Jiang Hu. Rounding out the cast is Joe Chen Qiao En, Wallace Huo, Yuan Shan Shan, Han Dong, Chen Xiao, and Yang Ming Na.
Colorful (as expected from Yumama’s dramas) pictures of the cast after the cut. heh.
