You know there was a time where kids go through the “awkward” phase of their childhood? These child actors? NOPE. The girls are so stunning in ancient costumes that I forget time looking at them. These child actors are plucked from the program Star of Tomorrow and they have been doing kiddie remakes of many dramas, click on the tag to check previous related posts on them. Truly talented bunch.
If you have been following AVV for a while, you know I’ve been watching these child actors (from the program Star of Tomorrow) since last year and they continue to impress one project after another. The latest one which aired a month ago is their kiddie version of The Three Kingdoms period. I think the topic is a too heavy for child actors but they look so in characters, it’s mind-blowing. Maybe because they’re still kids so trying to look pretty on cameras isn’t on their agenda yet, hence the 100% immersion. Adult actors, be careful!
And you thought The Legend of White Snake was cute? Wait till you see the kiddie version of Hua Mu Lan (花木兰)! I couldn’t stop smiling at the kids in soldiers uniforms! The same group of child actors from the program Star of Tomorrow. I think it’s a genius idea for the kids to have a feel of acting and simply enjoying the sets, equipment, and making life-long friends. It’s precious!
Interesting direction. Hunan’s remake of The Legend of White Snake aired last week to successful ratings, providing hope to their other serial remakes such as Third Sisters Liu, The White Haired Girl, etc…. They are using this chance to introduce potential child actors found through the program Star of Tomorrow. Much as it is a tribute to classic television works, it also aims to educate the younger actors and audience of traditional customs, without putting pressure and tailored training to the batch of fresh faces and allowing them to act as they feel. They are between the ages of 6-12. When I say potential, the program director clarified that the kids chosen don’t necessarily go into acting as a career. It’s sorta like a summer program for most of them.
