Legend of the Magnate (大生意人) is adapted from the novel written by Zhao Zhi Yu.

Synopsis Per Qiyi: The story follows Gu Pingyuan, a scholar who is falsely accused and exiled. Faking his death to survive, he navigates treacherous political and social landscapes, strategically leveraging opportunities to rise again. Starting with a money exchange business, he builds his fortune through tea, establishes his enterprise with salt, and eventually provides grain to feed the people. Through his unique methods and resilience, he stages a powerful comeback in the business world, ultimately becoming a great merchant who brings prosperity to his region.

Supernatural thriller Love on the Turquoise Land with Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Xing Xu confirmed broadcast date

It’s raining dramas, it’s raining dramas…. oh its a flood of dramas!

Love on the Turquoise Land (枭起青壤) is adapted from the novel Xiao Qi Qing Rang written by Wei Yu.

Synopsis Per Wetv: It tells the story of a secret organization of supernatural abilities called “Nanshan Hunters.” It follows Nie Jiuluo and Yan Tuo, which initially their relationship starts off combative, but after several life-and-death collaborations, they gradually develop mutual trust and affection. Together, they confront the villain Di Xiao, protect love and peace, and ultimately become life partners.

Biao Mei Wan Fu (表妹万福) is an upcoming costume drama adapted from the novel written by Peng Lai Ke (The Prisoner of Beauty). Our male lead is a deputy commander of Shenjiying who comes to the booming business city of Changle to buy firearms and gets entangled in the maritime warfare. Our female lead’s family’s merchant ship is on the verge of capture by the Japanese. He then continues to save her from an unwanted marriage by….going into one with her. XD

Li Hong Yi and Lu Ting Yu in romance xianxia drama Flying up without Disturb

Honestly, who is reviewing some of these English titles? That is the disturbing part.

Flying up without Disturb (勿扰飞升) is adapted from the novel written by Yue Xia Die Ying. This drama was filmed in 2022. The story follows our fallen princess who stumbles into the world of cultivation by chance and luckily gets doted on by everyone in her sect. Determined to become a better cultivator, she requests to leave her sect and enters the real world. There, she meets our frail male lead, and they begin their cultivation journey.

Wu Lei and Li Wan Da begin filming for xianxia drama The One

The One (剑来) is adapted from the novel Jian Lai (剑来) by Feng Huo Xi Zhu Hou. There’s an donghua version as well called Sword of Coming. You can watch that here. It’s described as the coming-of-age tale of a young man who discovers a hidden world of cultivation and martial arts.

Excited for Wu Lei! The novel is often described as slow-burn.

Fantasy adventure romance drama Long Gu Fen Xiang with Jing Tian and Zhang Bin Bin has wrapped up filming

Long Gu Fen Xiang (龙骨焚箱) is adapted from the novel written by Wei Yu (same author behind Rattan). Rattan Director will also helm this one! Jing Tian plays the leader of Mountain Ghost/Spirit of her people, being molded at a young age by seven powerful women who are referred to as “mothers” of the clan. Hence, our female lead is cold and arrogant, has absolutely no fear. Because she grew up in a relatively peaceful time, she is also… quite… lazy. LOL. If not needed, she prefers to stay indoor (sounds like my kind of girl). But her other mission is to collect the “pearls”. Sorry, unsure how to translate that. During this trip, she’s attacked by an unknown person, whose kung fu is on par with her. Determined to investigate, she’s led off track and meets our male lead. Together, they undergo many challenges and unearth many secrets and dangers.

Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3: To Changan (唐朝诡事录之长安) is adapted from the novel Records of Strange Events in the Tang Dynasty written by Wei Feng Hua. This is the third installment to the franchise, starring the same leading stars. In the latest development, Lu Ling Feng and Su Wu Ming reunite in Chang An to uncover dark secrets hidden beneath its glittering streets and try their best to evade the power struggle between the emperor and the Grand Princess.

I keep saying I will check out this supernatural mystery detective drama but each time I check back, they have a new season! I guess I can wait until they end things. Lol. Has new seasons been able to keep up with Season 1 fans?
