Qin Lan, Charmaine Sheh, and Wu Jin Yan for Yu Zheng’s Qing drama, Yan Xi’s Conquest

Lol. I’m dying at the implication of this whole Qing drama. With Zhou Xun and Wallace Huo‘s palace drama, Ru Yi, set to draw in viewers, Yu Zheng can’t sit still and let the opportunity pass by his head. He’s producing his own Qing drama, tentatively called Yan Xi’s Conquest (延禧攻略) and inviting some big stars (Qin Lan, Charmaine Sheh, and Nie Yuan) to lay foundation while having his own actress Wu Jin Yan (Zhao Ge) in the leading role. If you have watched Princess Pearls (Huan Zhu Ge Ge), you would recognize the three female characters. HA!

Jing Tian reigns in The Legend of Xiao Zhuang’s long trailer

I’m kinda mesmerized by how stunning Jing Tian looks in period costumes. Such perfect, pale skin. The Legend of Xiao Zhuang depicts the love triangle between a Mongolian Princess, Da Yu Er (later known as Xiao Zhuang, mother to Shunzhi Emperor, and grandmother to Kangxi Emperor) with two Manchurian Princes. The older being Hong Taiji, the first Qing emperor, and his 14th brother, general Dorgon. It is said that she fell for Dorgon first but was married to Hong Taiji in fictional romance. The story has been dramatized before in 2003 starring Steven Ma, Ning Jing and Liu De Kai. I don’t remember much about this version…
