Summer is a double-wedged sword when it comes to airing dramas. It’s good because ratings are generally higher due to students being off and tuning in to their favorite currently on air, but it’s also bad because every production wants to be the most talked and on top in the ratings game, leading to a division of audience views! Here are two more dramas that are scheduled to compete for your time this summer. Wu Xin The Monster Killer Season 2 and modern drama My Ruby My Blood with Nicky Wu and Ying Er.
The second sports drama to come your way sometime this year is modern drama, Mr. Swimmer (游泳先生), starring Thai actor Mike D. Angelo (Wu Xin: The Monster Killer) and Ju Jing Yi (Detective Samoyeds) as a pair of bickering couple. He’s a genius swimmer talent with humble beginning and she’s a rich miss whose family takes a tumble. Her boyfriend for an unknown reason breaks up with her, and he’s the male lead’s good friend. The boys then begin to compete in every aspect of life, from love to career. They train strictly for their upcoming national swimming competition, and before the battle begins, good friend’s father threatens our male lead into losing the battle. To uphold justice and maintain honor and sportsmanship, good friend defends male lead and returns his reputation. Through many twists and turns, the three youths build a a sense of responsibility and perseverance, releasing an inner shine of outstanding youths.
Will Elvis Han redeem himself playing the same role that brought his face (and his abs) to our attention last year? While he was solid in Wu Xin The Monster Killer, his next few projects failed to continue the brightened road to stardom. Tis okay! I’m looking forward to another season of intrigues and bromance!
(Sidenote: Photobucket is still down… T__T Some posts can’t be published because 40+ pictures are now gone. WAHH.)
Well, isn’t Thai Actor Mike D. Angelo keeping busy in China? This past week, two of his Chinese dramas, My Little Princess (亲爱的公主病) and Delicious Destiny (美味奇缘) both drop their first official trailer. One is a clearly a comedy, while the other one is your typical Chinese melo, complete with face-washing in a glass of wine.
