Damn, that’s a lot of love in the title…. I guess it’s December so lots of love and happiness to spread around. ^_^

Beyond (超越) is an upcoming drama following our heroine as she skates toward her dream of joining the short track speed national team. If you recall, To Fly With You with Song Zu Er and Wang An Yu also has the same sport featured. Hu Jun plays her father and as always, she needs to win his approval. The drama trope in most, if not all, Asian sport dramas. 😛
Airing 1/9~
Oh gosh! Drama overload, drama overload!! This has to be good!
Adapted from the novel written by Feng Huo Xi Zhu Hou, wuxia/historical drama Sword Snow Stride (雪中悍刀行) stars Zhang Ruo Yun, Hu Jun, Li Geng Xi, Zhang Tian Ai, Vengo Gao, and Li Chun.
Synopsis written by Amy: The story follows young nobleman, Xu Feng Nian, the eldest son of general Xu Xiao of Northern Liang Dynasty, how he finally became a great weapon under the eager expectation of his father. The road to success was long and grueling, and filled with ruthless murderous intentions, yet he persevered through the hardships. His journey through Jianghu encouraged him to improve his martial arts skills, and along the way, he established strong relationships with crucial people that could benefit him in his future adventures. At last, he finally became the King of Northern Liang. Xu Feng Nian led the Beiliang cavalry in the fight against Beimang and their sudden invasion, and would become the beacon of hope within the Central Plains.
The drama’s script is written by Joy of Life’s Wang Juan. Airing 12/15!
Call me a nerd but I love it when I can put the name of the drama (or in this case, the old version) fits seamlessly in the post title (but quite ironic with HJJ’s situation 😛 )! Truth or Dare (花好月又圆) is touted as the drama remake of the period comedy in 2001 Wrong Carriage, Right Groom (上错花轿嫁对郎).
Plot According to Yoyo Youtube: A story that follows two couples who mistakenly find themselves in a marriage they never expected and gradually grow in love and trust over time. The cheerful and clever Xiao Wan Zi grew up as a street performer with her dad selling their special skill of breaking a big stone on the chest. An unexpected encounter utterly changes Xiao Wan Zi’s life. Xiao Wan Zi who neither knew how to read nor write suddenly finds herself becoming a princess. Opposed to marrying the princess, Mei San Shao pushes Xiao Wan Zi away in hopes that she’d willingly retreat. Meanwhile, the king has arranged a marriage for Lu Ying Yao, the daughter of the 9th prince. However, bandit Xiao Bao Ye mistakenly takes her as his wife.
I’m quite surprised this drama decided to air considering Huang Jun Jie’s personal scandal, which forced him to quietly take a break from his acting career since April of this year.
Airing 6/8~

Image-heavy post. 😀
Huge batch of stills from the past week. Happy Weekend!
The Tencent Video Annual Conference is sure a busy event, dramas are dropping trailers like flies! Will add more if I see them. But I’m at work. 😛
Truth or Dare (花好月又圆) is touted as the drama remake of the period comedy in 2001 Wrong Carriage, Right Groom (上错花轿嫁对郎) with Nie Yuan and Huang Yi. The new version announces Huang Jun Jie (Dr. Cutie) and Li Geng Xi (A Little Reunion). The drama follows two women who are set to marry on the same day. Due to the heavy rain, both bridal carriages stop at a temple, making the two girls befriend each other in the short time they spent together. However, they later get on the wrong carriage and are brought home to unexpected turnouts. From the title, I think it’s a happy twist of events that they meet the right groom after all. I haven’t watched the original drama but my mom loved it. She loves Huang Yi in almost everything. Lol. And guess what, author Xi Juan also wrote the novel-turned-drama adaptation Cuo Dian Yuan Yang with Zhao Li Ying.
The original is available on youtube without English subs. I have only managed to find Episode 1 and 2 subbed by Kaparin An (link).
Ok, having said all that, erase what I just told you. Lol. This new version is based LOOSELY inspired by the novel as I scanned the new synopsis and it resembles nothing of the old version. Female lead is basically a wanderer who performs tricks on the streets to earn money for a living. At a chance encounter, she’s mistaken as the princess and married to a rich master played by Huang Jun Jie. The second female lead is a princess and she’s brought to the mountains (or somewhere else) by second male lead (a bandit no less!) who thinks she’s his bride-to-be. This sounds too comical!!
