I decided to revive this old post (when we were fooled into thinking it would air 2 years ago.) The comments section is hilarious and I want to share it with you guys once again. =D I saw a lot of familiar names and shed a tear knowing that some of you guys are still hanging around this ship. Thank-you. ❤
We are almost there guys!! Finally some good news for us! The highly anticipated drama, Princess of Lan Ling (兰陵王妃), adapted from the novel written by Yang Qian Zi, is scheduled to premiere online at Mango TV on September 29th October, having been bought by Hunan and shelved till now (4 years?). With that, I’m sad to share the news that one of the cast members is no longer with us in this world. I wasn’t able to share the news back then, but she’s remembered fondly by the cast and friends and deserves a spot in your heart for her courageous fight against cancer.
Aww, all the likable supporting actors in one drama! The new historical drama, Chong Er’s Preach (重耳传), started without much fanfare and even the press conference held today went out just as quietly. I know I complained about drama titles being lame and repetitive but Chong Er’s Preach is a bit jarring to the ears. Sigh. Chong Er is the given name of Duke Wen of Jin who ruled from 636 to 628 BC. The titular role is given to Henry Wang Long Hua and playing his lady love is none other than Kristy Zhang Han Yun. I know we are still sad about Princess of Lan Ling… She is too… ~~
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since our country bumpkin kick-started her career in the entertainment world. After winning Yahoo’s Search Star Game (搜星比赛), she scored her first CF. While she was in minor roles in dramas that I have watched, alongside actresses like Chen Qiao En, Ady An, etc.., I only ever started to pay attention to her elf-like features when she was cast in the remake of Huan Zhu Ge Ge (Princess Returning Pearl) in 2011 as the demure and intelligent Qing Er. The fandom really began for me with Female Prime Minister, buoyed by her fantastic chemistry with Chen Xiao and the onslaught of pretty, pretty visuals. So I guess one way or another, Yu Zheng brought us together. *snickers* Never thought I would say that line….
Caught a break and went to watch The Jungle Book with my little boy. Seems like the running theme in all Disney movies is identifying and enhancing one’s sense of self (be the best of you!) Haven’t watched the original movie or animation series, but I enjoyed the movie and loved it quite a bit. Baloo and his jokes got me rolling.
