Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui form an alliance through marriage in costume drama Blossom

How many more Blossom-named dramas can they fit in for 2024? 😛

Blossom is adapted from the novel Jiu Chong Zi/Deep Purple (九重紫) written by Zhi Zhi, who also wrote The Sword and The Brocade. This is another second chance type of novel.

Synopsis per Wetv: After losing her mother at a young age, Dou Zhao faces family turmoil and a harsh fate that leaves her disillusioned with love and kinship. Determined to protect herself, she outsmarts her scheming stepmother, secures her inheritance, and retreats to a remote estate to study and rebuild her life. One stormy night, she encounters Song Mo, a nobleman in disguise, and helps him protect the descendants of the Duke of Dingguo. Their destinies become intertwined. Amid Song Mo’s family mysteries and Dou Zhao’s struggles against malicious rumors, the two form an alliance through marriage to weather their respective crises. What begins with suspicion evolves into mutual trust and affection as they face challenges together. As political storms brew, they join forces to uncover the truth behind the Duke of England’s family secrets, thwart a rebellion, clear loyal officials of wrongful accusations, and safeguard the nation. Together, they reclaim their families’ honor and find happiness on their terms.

Official images and trailer for Blossom with Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui

Blossom is adapted from the novel Jiu Chong Zi/Deep Purple (九重紫) written by Zhi Zhi, who also wrote The Sword and The Brocade. This is another second chance type of novel. After our heroine dies in her first life, she realizes she has overlooked many things. She wakes up in her toddler years. It’s strange to me how a lot of novels want their main characters to go back in time to when they are a baby. Quite useless, no? They don’t even have control of their bladder yet. 🤦 As for our male lead, he has brewing troubles within his own family, hostile relationship with his dad, which results in many deaths.

Youhug’s description: The first daughter of the Dou family, Dou Zhao, who was abandoned by her husband, was accidentally reborn. She gets to know Song Mo, who is carrying a family grudge. Together they save their families from destruction, vindicate the unjust cases of loyal officers and keep the country in peace.

Drama is still filming.

First Stills of Ju Jing Yi and Zeng Shun Xi in Rebirth For You

Rebirth For You (慕南枝) is adapted from the novel written by Zhi Zhi. In the novel, our female lead gets a rebirth and retains all the memories from her previous life; she was an Empress. Our hero was an official/general who admired her from far away. After rebirth, he’s determined to fight and win her to his side. After she was reborn, she relies on her own strengths and intelligence to balance the different parties in the palace. She’s also determined to help her husband/male lead rise to power as a capable Emperor in a prosperous era.

Well, not sure how much of the rebirth storyline they are gonna keep but being reborn definitely has its perks!

I can get behind this couple. The age difference helps in this case, he’s a general so being older is okay. The story sounds typical so it’s up to the characters to make it vibrant for us!
