Chinese stars at 70th Annual Cannes Film Festival 2017

Cannes Film Festival 2017 is currently taking place in France, from May 17th to May 28th, a week-long event to celebrate and preview films of all genre from various parts of the world. From China this year, we have two films in the mix, under different categories. I rarely do watch movies so maybe one of our readers could shed some lights on these two undiscovered gems. One is director Li Rui Jun’s Walking Past the Future and the other being a short film A Gentle Night directed by Qiu Yang.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I’m so glad it’s friday, I feel like a walking machine these past two weeks. Good thing my contract work for the summer will be over in two weeks so I can resume my normal work hours instead of these long shifts back to back to back…

Sina’s Weibo Awards Night 2015

Another gathering, this one slightly bigger because everyone has weibo! There are some Korean stars thrown in the mix as well, among them my favorites from Running Man! Did you guys vote? I did. Lol. Zhao Li Ying and Kris Wu are both Weibo Queen and King respectively. Nick was the top dog and lost to Kris in the last few days!

I don’t think I have all awards figured out yet. Too many.

Tang Yan and Han Geng lead Chinese Odyssey Part Three

Girl is never gonna take a break! If I were to plan a celebrity vacation, Tang Yan and Zhao Li Ying would be the first to be shipped off somewhere exotic to enjoy a few weeks. The previous two parts of Chinese Odyssey starred Stephen Chow, Ng Man Tat, Athena Chu, and Yammie Lam, and were released in 1995. Stephen Chow also adapted his own version in 2013 called Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons. The same director, Jeffrey Lau, will be re-inventing the storyline to match with today’s audience.

What’s up with the trend of adapting stories from classical novel Journey to the West? I see at least four different versions being made into the film this year… *shrugs*

Ten beautiful actresses join Hunan new reality show, Up Idol

Wow, what a fanboy-driven show! Heck, I’m a girl and I definitely have a crush on almost all the invited ladies. Up Idol (or Idol Is Coming), is a new reality show produced by HunanTV with ten beautiful actresses of their respected era traveling to different areas, one of them being Mongolia. Just when we complained we don’t have enough sisterhood displayed onscreen, here is a golden chance for creating those precious bonds that might just last a life time. I’m not sure what it is about because the baidu page is pretty unhelpful. But the core of the show is dividing them into two teams and competing them in various games and competitions. The show begins airing on July 25th. There will be male guests in certain episodes and some of the leaked news include Li Yi Feng, TFboys, Kris Wu, EXO, and Lu Han.

Who are the ten actresses? Click to find out! 😀
