Ruo Xi lifts her head, and asks with a tinge of heat, “That person. How did he die?”
Hidden from Ruo Xi, 8th’s face briefly shifts from pain to regret before his expression returns to its usual calm. He sits down saying that the men he send were careless and General Maertai caught wind of the investigation.

[Recap] Bu Bu Jing Xin Episode 4
With the passing of a happy summer, so passes the happiest moments of Rou Xi’s new life. From now on, she lives with a growing chill and the arrival of winter heralds the cold in her heart. Rou Xi has had the fear of God, or in this care, the Emperor burned on her mind. The carefree existence she led with her sister is going to be changed soon. In what way? Onwards ho!

Winter arrives. The maids tell Ruo Xi that snow has covered the ground. She steps out, dressed warmly and savours the cool air as the snow crunches underfoot.

They walk slowly, 10th with his eyes squinted close and Ruo Xi laughing beside him. Qiao Hui waves at Ruo Xi, giving a nod before scurrying off. “Open your eyes now!”
String after string of multicoloured paper cranes dance between rows of colourful paper lanterns. They bob merrily in the wind. 10th exclaims, delighted and hurries forward. He twirls the paper cranes and asks what they are. Ruo Xi replies 1000 cranes. All personally folded by Ruo Xi!

Back home, the younger sister tells Ruo Lan about her day. Exclaiming over Ling Lung’s fine qualities, she says it is well named. Ruo Lan looks at in surprise at her excitement and Ruo Xi pauses, asking if she know how to ride.
Ruo Lan asks, “You don’t remember again?” Ruo Xi nods slowly, a slight tension in her expression.

Just two words. Boo hoo. What? Why?
Of course it’s a good Boo hoo!
Though I am a latecomer to the Bu Bu Jing Xin (BBJX) train, I have been catching up on the madness. Finishing the 35 episodes in 3 days while reading the book itself.
I first heard of BBJX when Alice (*mumbles softly ‘Enabler’) posted two episodes of the show while completing the upload of Huan Zhu Ge Ge (HZGG). I had given up on HZGG after the first season. Skeptical of the title, I downloaded the first episode and was hooked. The gorgeous costumes coupled with crisp dialogue, a well-paced storyline as well as good acting made this jaded drama addict’s day.
Just as Alice had done for me, I’ve spread my excitement about BBJX to others. And I wanted to continue sharing through recaps of the episodes. I am new to this blog and new to writing recaps, so bear with me. All typos, etc, etc are mine. Onwards ho!
