Liu Hao Ran and Song Zu Er lead solid cast in Novoland: Eagle Flag

Well! After two months of filming, we finally have some posters to look at. Novoland: Eagle Flag (九州缥缈录) is the next drama set in the vast magical universe “Novoland”. The author, Jiang Nan, along with Jin He Zai (Tribes), is one of the original writers who created the universe and he has been working on the drama script with another person. I’m quite excited about this production since I’m fond of both of the leads, who are very young in dramaland: Liu Hao Ran is 20 this year and Song Zu Er (The Dark Lord) is only 19, same age as one of my bros. Lol. Eagle Flag follows the epic, sweeping story of three youths who found comfort in each other’s company during the vicissitudes of life and power struggles between empires, with Hao Ran playing a weak and sickly prince who is sent away….as a hostage in another land, where he meets a brave and untamed warrior (Chen Ruo Xuan) and a witty princess (Zu Er). Their story of struggle, growth, love, and friendship unleash into a heroic journey of sorts.

The hostage part sounds familiar to our dear Yan Xun? Because this is where Princess Agents novel writer picked up the threads for her main story. Lol.

Zhou Xun, Wallace Huo, and more adorn royal head pieces in Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace

Palace drama Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace (如懿传) is adapted from the novel written by Liu Lian Zi, following the marriage between Qianlong Emperor (Wallace Huo) and Ulanara (Zhou Xun), the Step Empress during the Qing dynasty. I don’t know what to think about this series…. the countless ladies and wives fighting and scheming for one man for many, many cycles of new faces. 90 episodes isn’t appealing either but there is always an audience for this type of dramas so there’s that.

Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace unveils more Consorts Stills

Palace drama Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace (如懿传) is adapted from the novel written by Liu Lian Zi, following the marriage between Qianlong Emperor (Wallace Huo) and Ulanara (Zhou Xun), the Step Empress during the Qing dynasty. I honestly don’t think this is my type of story; countless number of scheming ladies conspiring for and against each other. Lol. The new batch of stills only consists of half of the ladies thrown in the pitting box to fight for Qianlong’s affections. One hell of a lucky role for any male actor.

And it has whopping 90 episodes! I CANNOT. YOU. 1#***3%@#!#@!~~~!!!

Four Character Teasers for Jiang Jin Fu’s Royal Highness

Yes. You read that right, we have a wagon of trailers released yesterday at the press conference for Jiang Jin Fu‘s period drama, Royal Highness (回明之杨凌传), based on the novel written by Yue Guang. The novel follows a modern man who is given a chance to re-live and is sent back through time and landed himself in the Ming Dynasty. Using only his wits, he’s able to rise the rank and befriend the emperor. Friends, enemies, and a house of lovely ladies. What a lucky man. I think this is the premise our male fans would appreciate more than us girls. Lol. However, I have to add that the trailers surprised me in a good way. I expected more comedy from the synopsis but each trailer runs solemnly and wraps the struggles of each character nicely in one brief minute. It’s back on my watch-list now. XD

Lovely costumes in Jiang Jin Fu and Yuan Bing Yan’s Royal Highness

This sounds like a fun adaptation, except for the skeletal synopsis to Jin Yong’s The Deer and the Cauldron. Royal Highness is the drama adaptation of novel, Back to the Ming Dynasty as a Wang Ye (回到明朝当王爷), featuring a slew of your favorite fresh faces in Jiang Jin Fu (Love Me & Convince Me), Crystal Yuan Bing Yan (The Mystic Nine), Wayne Liu (Who Sleeps My Brother), and Zhang Si Fan (Demon Girl). Our male lead is a lucky man who was supposed to die early in life but is spared by the Hell Emperor after he saved a person and is given three years to live. With his smooth talk with the soldiers in hell, he’s reincarnated back to Ming dynasty into the body of a young scholar – who is neither a great scholar or great fighter. But somehow, he manages to achieve great things in life, becoming a Wang Ye, being best friend with the king, winning wars and building a legacy behind his name, including a long line of beautiful wives.

Yep. Exactly like Wei Xiao Bao – my least favorite hero! What to do? >.<

Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace lines up Beautiful Consorts

Holy Krap. The supporting female actresses are the bomb. So many beautiful faces for King Wallace Huo to romance and for Lady Zhou Xun to contend with (..not possible?) Oh heck, we know Ruby Lin wins hands down at the end of the day (heh.) Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace (如懿傳) focuses on the fierce harem battles during the reign of Qianlong Emperor and is ready to start production. Wouldn’t it be funny if Princess Zi Wei (and Huan Zhu Ge Ge) appear as cameo? Oy, the twisty twist twist. LOL.

Meow!
