Nostalgia alert!! Back To the Past (寻秦记) is a movie continuation of the drama in 2001. OMG. Seeing everyone in the skin again after 20 years together is surreal. They managed to invite back all of the main core characters – Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, and Michelle Saram. Sadly, there’s no Kwong Wah, but there are a few more familiar faces in the supporting cast as well. AWWWWWWWW. The story follows a group of men led by Max who accidentally time-travel to the past and begin using modern technologies to disturb the warfare of Qin Shi Huang (Raymond Lam), forcing him to seek the help of his master Xiang Shao Long (Louis Koo).
No release date yet but check out the quick teaser dropped today!
Hot dang! It’s December already…2017 is coming to an end. I can’t believe it. How time just flew over our head this year. We still have another month worth of dramas to watch! This is about half of them. Lol….
Oooo! I would like for this to happen! The latest casting news has Chen Xiang (Tornado Girl) and Guo Xiao Ting (Chinese Paladin) up for the leading roles. They might change the two-wives storyline after all? YAY! Nicky Wu is listed as the artistic director and Liu Shi Shi might put in a cameo appearance for the upcoming webdrama produced by youku. Not even sure the word remake is the right word since the story is based of the novel…. Should say adaptation instead.
Looks like the next IT boy receiving casting love calls left and right is William Chan (Legend of the Ancient Sword, The Legend of Zu). I’m not sure I like this… The original did bring fame and attention to the rising group of newbies led by Louis Koo and the talented Kwong Wah. When I was younger, I liked A Step Into The Past a lot… Time travel was a novel idea back in the days and who knew TVB was the pioneer of many things ages ago (heh). A Step Into The Past is an ancient drama produced by TVB in 2001; the story is based on a novel of the same name by Huang Yi and follows a police officer (Louis) as he travels back in time to the warring periods of China and gets involved in many historical events leading to the unification of China under the Qin dynasty. Raymond Lam played the first emperor of Unified China, aided by Louis along the way.
