First Trailer for spy drama War Of Faith with Wang Yi Bo, Li Qin, and Wang Yang

Yi Bo is back to dramaland! The last time I watched him was in Legend of Fei with perfect wuxia hair. Lol

Synopsis per Qiyi: War Of Faith (长风破浪) tells the story of Wei Ruolai (played by Wang Yibo), a financial genius who serves as a low-level employee of the Kuomintang Central Bank from 1929 to 1934. He is mentored by the senior advisor Shen Tunan (played by Wang Yang). In troubled times, he is confused and hesitant about the path he should choose. Under the influence of Shen Tunan’s sister and Communist Party member Shen Jinzhen (played by Li Qin), he gradually establishes his communist beliefs and grows into a loyal financier who takes the lead in our party’s financial front.

This is rumored to come out in March too and if true, my Legend of Fei‘s OTP are up against each other! Don’t do it!!

Mao Xiao Tong and Zhang Bin Bin reunite in heavy-hearted modern drama Yu Sheng You Ya

Yu Sheng You Ya (余生有涯) is a modern drama adapted from the novel written by Mo Shu Bai. It reunites costars Zhang Bin Bing and Mao Xiao Tong. Do you remember which drama they were in together? It’s been so long! Yang Yang’s Love O2O in 2016! Anyway, the topic of the drama is a heavy one – our heroine lives quite an ordinary life and she thinks it would remain that way. Until that one night when her husband forgets to pick her up and she ends up being raped. She dares not speak about the incident; afraid of society’s savage victim-blaming – that she shouldn’t be drinking at the party, that she shouldn’t be wearing a dress, that she has shamed her family and husband. She cries in silence. But her previously divorce-seeking husband sees her suffering and her tears. He holds her hands and tells her that she needs to speak up and press charges. Thus begins her story of justice and healing.

Oof. What a topic. Let’s hope it is handled with care and love. ❤️

Revenge Costume drama Kill My Sins confirms leads in Liu Shi Shi and Shawn Dou Xiao

Kill My Sins (掌心) is a female-centric revenge costume drama. Our heroine hails from a physician family, intelligent and talented. But at a young age, her skills in hypnosis (?) was used by those in power to seduce young girls. When the crimes were leaked, court Counselor tried to gather evidence to charge the officials involved, but all evidence disappeared over night and he found himself and his clan falsely accused, leading to the deaths of his entire family. Our heroine’s family was hunted down and exterminated, and she is the lone survivor. Eighteen years later, she comes to Chang’an as a wandering physician under a different name. Our hero is a young magistrate who lusts after power, he’s cold and ruthless. Even though he’s talented, he’s looked down by other officials for not being of noble blood. Their paths cross when one of her patients die and she’s the last person at the crime scene. He’s in charge of the case. Although he senses something is amiss, he’s too eager to pin the blame on our heroine to rise the ranks. But is our heroine truly innocent, or has the wheels of vengeance already started? MUAHHAHHAHAH. Ok, I added in the last part. XD

Booting ceremony is held today! Other cast members I see: Zheng Ye Cheng and Xuan Lu.

Tan Song Yun and Hou Ming Hao begin filming for fantasy drama Xiao Yao

Xiao Yao (逍遥) is an upcoming fantasy romance drama that is not based on a novel! So rare. XD. In the ancient times, humans and demons have lusted after a sacred spring of jade wine. Tan Song Yun will be playing two roles, the titular role Xiao Yao is a normal, carefree girl who finds herself entangled in the valley of demons. Her other role with opposite personality is a ruthless princess. Neo is quite the busy bee lately, he just finished Fangs of Fortune, and now he’s in all black once again to play the King of Demons. Lol! The two cross path as our heroine turns the demon valley upside down while our hero is the protector of the very same place.

Liu Xue Yi, Wu Jin Yan, and Bi Wen Jun look melancholy in costume drama Kill Me Love Me

Kill Me Love Me (春花厌) is adapted from the novel written by Hei Yan. I took a look at the novel and it’s one twisted downhill ride. They would have to change quite a bit for the drama cause male lead is not likable/pretty toxic and doesn’t treat the female lead nice at all cause he’s in love with another girl for over a decade, who’s also the cause of female lead’s misery. There’s a clear distinction in class (owner/servant/rich/poor) and that’s how he will treat you. From young, our heroine was raised to become an assassin in a secret organization. She has no name and is assigned the number 43. She swallows her pride, her dignity, and everything else just to survive. As it turns out, male lead runs the cruel organization…

I thought I could root for the FL but she’s so passive and accepting of every misery thrown at her that it is hard to read. LXY looks so intensely good in here since he’s a Prince who also hops on a horse and goes to war that I might take a peak. Lol. I’m not that into toxic male leads but I know they are the rage nowadays.
