Historical drama The Litchi Road with Lei Jia Yin, Yue Yun Peng, and Na Er Na Xi to air in June

The Litchi Road (长安的荔枝) is adapted from the novel written by Ma Bo Yong. Just to clear up some confusion, there’s a movie adaptation of the same novel featuring Da Peng as well (coming out to theaters in July).

Synopsis per Amazon: Li Shande was a petty official in the capital city Chang’an during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. One day he received a task that he should transport fresh litchi from Guangdong province to Chang’an before the birthday of Lady Yang. Litchi changed in color in one day, and for two days, its fragrance changed and its taste changed when it was kept for three days. But Guangdong was about 2000 kilometers. So it was an impossible mission for Li Shande to accomplish. But for the survival of his family, Li was determined to try his utmost. ‘Even if I fail, I want to know how far I am from the terminal right before I fall,’ he said. This book carries on Ma Boyong’s writing style of tension in time space, which let readers see the ways of survival of small potatoes during the turbulent time and also experienced the passionate striving with painstaking effort. It also has a map for the transportation of the litchi.

Eternal Brotherhood Season 2 with Yang Xu Wen, Liu Yu Ning, and Zhang Ming En confirms broadcast date

Liu Yu Ning’s The Prisoner of Beauty hasn’t even finished airing yet but his next drama, Eternal Brotherhood Season 2 (紫川·光明王), is already on the rotation to air! I didn’t watch Season 1 so can’t vouch much for its reputation. It looks action-packed though.

Per Qiyi: Season 1 is set in the turbulent land of Zichuan, where the clans of Zichuan and Sairong are engaged in intense warfare. Zichuan Xiu (played by Yang Xuwen), stationed at the border, returns to the capital with remarkable military achievements, bringing a momentary peace to his homeland. However, new challenges arise as Yang Minghua, a prominent court official with sinister intentions, launches a rebellion. Zichuan Xiu, along with his sworn brothers Di Lin (played by Liu Yuning) and Siyi Lin (played by Zhang Ming’en), takes action to eliminate the threat and restore tranquility to Zichuan. Yet, as the dust settles, the aggressive Sairong officially declares war on Zichuan. Amidst the flames of war, the three brothers venture far from their homeland to defend their territory, protect their loved ones, and strive for peace, composing a passionate and magnificent story.

Sci-fi drama What a Wonderful World with Zhao Li Ying, Yin Fan, and Dong Zi Jian secures air date

Qiyi describes What A Wonderful World (在人间): This is a healing journey of self-reconciliation. In the world of adults, the monotony of everyday life silently erodes the soul, between breaking down and recovering, wounds are stitched up and torn open repeatedly. Loneliness drifts through the bustling city, caught in the endless cycle of day and night, swallowed by a dense forest of steel and concrete, where neither light nor a sky of one’s own can be found. Two souls, reflected in a rearview mirror, gradually shed their disguises and defenses, finding redemption and embracing each other in love. Reality and illusion intertwine, suspense and mystery weave together, and emotions and salvation coexist. Ultimately, the self is the way home. Looking at the world once more, one is no longer alone.
