A Love So Beautiful: Episode 2 – 4 RECAP “Frustration Levels Sky High.”

Maybe I’m getting older or maybe my taste has never changed to begin with. Boy-crazy heroines drive me off the wall. Lol. My experience with this drama is interesting. While I recapped, my level of frustration level was kept at bay, but after the recap, in hindsight, I had to tskk-tskk at all the good moments that the writer let pass for the sake of love. Had it been in a stronger writer’s hand, these moments would have demonstrated good character growth and depth.

A Love So Beautiful: Episode 1 RECAP “Dear Jiang Chen.”

I have never wanted to be in detention this bad. I was a goody two-shoes in school so I never had that bonding session in detention after school before! It looks adorable!

The Starry Night The Starry Sea Second: Episodes 3 & 4 Recap

This 7 episodes a week release is insane! I love it as a watcher but hate is as a recapper lol Well, the romance definitely starts to pick up this episode as Julan’s cool and icy demeanor starts to crack just a little. We get to know Yin Hu a little better, my heart continues to break for Xiao Husband, and Ah Li annoys me a little less. Hey, that’s progress people.

The Starry Night The Starry Sea Second: Episodes 1 & 2 Recap

It’s here! I only found out about this drama a week ago but let me tell you, it was a very long week lol I’m fairly new to Chinese Dramas. I was browsing an Asian drama website looking for a new Korean drama to watch when I happened upon Ice Fantasy. I devoured it. Thus started my budding crush on Feng Shao Feng. Of course it was only natural that I waited in anticipation for his next drama The Starry Night The Starry Sea, and now here I am waiting and watching The Starry Night The Starry Sea 2. The fall into Chinese Drama junky is a slow and steady one.

I have to say, one of the things that first drew me to The Starry Night The Starry Sea (besides Feng Shao Feng) was that the story was not about a mermaid but a merman. I would say that 99% of stories about merpeople are focused on a female. Be it the American industry such as the movies The Little Mermaid and Splash or the international industry such as the Korean dramas Legend of the Blue Sea and Surplus Princess. So the fact that this drama focused on a merman was immediately intriguing. Ok, enough chatter, let’s get this review started.

While You Were Sleeping: Episodes 1 – 8 “Adorable characters!”

Am I dreaming?! I have time for a drama! Columbus day, thank-you! Great characters in that they are not what they appear to be at first. Some people need time to groove into your dance and show you their best side. Patience is a virtue! 😉

Princess Agents: Episodes 38 – 41 Recap “Yan Xun’s Bloody Rebellion.”

Here we are at the second major arc in the story. Everyone makes a decision in these episodes, decisions that have deadly consequences. Decisions that they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. Besides the innocent civilians, nobody else is innocent, everybody has blood on their hands. And I have come to understand Yan Xun’s central role in the story; what happened because of him and due to him, sets the trajectories for the rest of the characters and story.

He’s the stimulus, kicking all the sleeping characters to fight for their faith. I suddenly feel enlightened about the novel as a whole.

Princess Agents: Episodes 35 – 37 Recap “Foxy Prince’s Arrival.”

He’s here! He’s here! Our foxy Prince is here! Like a burst of fresh air. With everyone faces hanging on doom and gloom, it’s nice to see some smiles around. Why I adore Xiao Che so much in the novel: he’s a delightful mix of pre-massacre Yan Xun with his abundance of sunshine and Yue’s slyness and intelligence. Like the best candy in the world! ❤

My snarky side came today so memes are here. Thanks Maymay who helped with these recaps!
