The City Maker (小城大事) is adapted from the novel written by Zhu Xiao Jun. It is set in the 1980s and follows the story of Li Qiuping, Zheng Decheng and other grassroots cadres from Donggang Town leading the local farmers and people to work together to build a prosperous and harmonious modern city [TMdb].
