Jun Jiu Ling with Peng Xiao Ran and Jin Han announces broadcast date

Jun Jiu Ling (君九龄) is an upcoming ancient drama based on the novel by Xi Xing. The story follows our female lead, daughter of the former Crown Prince, a princess who studies medicine to help cure her father, but unfortunately he dies anyway. She’s married off and later discovers that her uncle, the Current Emperor, was the mastermind behind her father’s death. When she tries to kill him, she’s killed off. Her soul is then transmigrated into the body of an orphaned girl, Jun Zhen Zhen, who also has problems on her end which is solved by the witty new soul. Turns out, Zhen Zhen’s arranged marriage to the Ning’s family was not honored, so she wanted to hang herself in front of their manor but ended up dying for real (O.O! At least this novel explains where the original soul went). However, that’s the novel version. In the drama version, to go around the body-soul problem, our princess is saved by a physician and takes on another identity instead.

I usually don’t comment on actor’s looks but seriously the male lead is giving me lecherous vibes

LOL, you’re too funny. Yes, I agree and I don’t think more make-up will help. Rather unfortunate that he gives me the impression of a used car salesman.

Haha he has that villain look. I can’t get this guy as the protagonist.

Well said, he does look more like an antagonist. Wonder what the directo was thinking with this particular casting. The female lead is very beautiful. The mismatch is rather glaring.

I watched a couple of episodes. His acting is fine, but, yes, it’s hard to get used to him as a kind-hearted male lead because his gaze/eyes are so intense and features are so strong. He really does look like a villain. Peng Xiao Ran is lovely as usual.

LOL! I won’t spoil it for anyone, but the work-around for transmigration is kind of funny and not really believable, but you gotta do what you gotta do to pass censorship!
