I don’t know what magical potion she’s drinking in her fountain of youth but she continues to look the SAME despite being 30! No wrinkles?

And yes, she’s a natural in acting too.

Ha – I’m looking forward to this for Wallace Chung so your comment about Tan Songyun gives me a lot of anticipation. I guess what makes or breaks a drama for me is when the leads both look and act as adults. I actually just ran across this drama this morning on YouTube and was surprised because I’d forgotten all about it.

i heard that this drama is supposed to be more mature since wallace is a general and tan songyun is his wife who takes care of the family(?)

i think wallace and tan songyun are well-matched here because they are both experienced actors and can bring maturity to their roles as a married couple who works their way through the relationship

i’m really looking forward to this drama so i’ve marked it down in my list to check out once i have more free time 🙂

I like the story and the pairing. Tan Songyun looks much younger than the male lead (but then in the story she’s supposed to be since she’s the youngest daughter). I think this is one of those rare occasions that an ‘older’ actress playing a younger (teen) character done really well. She doesn’t go into those ‘childish’ modes that I often see in dramas but you can see her youth in her tempered optimism and her initial awkward interactions with the male lead. And the awkwardness between them as a married couple is realistic. That is also one of the things that make her show her age (story-wise), she doesn’t know how to deal with men, but her inexperience is not over-the-top. One can see their chemistry even in those moments that they don’t know what to do with each other.

I see a lot of Minglan parallels here, but unlike Minglan who married a man who adored her, Shiyiniang married a man who is actually suspicious of her or at the very least still doesn’t know whether to trust her or not, but she just takes it in stride. So it will really be interesting how the whole story unfolds and develops.

The aesthetics are also top-notch. So that’s an added plus. I just wish someone will make a character post on this one since it’s hard to follow all the madams and the misses and who’s married to whom! I had to go back every now and then to figure out how the characters are related.

It’s so good. Really there need to be more mature dramas. I started watching for Seven and now I understand all the fuss that people say when they mention Wallace Chung. Why aren’t there more mature dramas? Just feels like its mostly pretty boys and girls rather than actual actors and actresses on these shows.
