Adapted from Eileen Chang’s popular novel, this has been made into a tv series before in 2002 called Affair of Half a Lifetime with Ruby Lin, Patrick Tam, Jiang Qin Qin. I didn’t finish the older version since it was quite disturbing. Older sister who is a club hostess can’t give birth so arrange for her husband to rape her younger sister (our heroine). Not my cup of tea.

=======> ♦ New Face (焕脸) with Zhou Yi Wei and Yuan Shan Shan began airing on 11/24. A plastic surgeon who fixes other people’s faces finds himself in an abandoned factory one day. He staggers home to discover that someone is living his life wearing his exact face! The irony!

=======> ♦ Mermaid Prince (浪花男神) with Li Xiang Zhe and Wu Ting Yi began airing on 11/25. A girl obsessed with mermaids and is determined to identify a handsome lifeguard as a merman?

=======> ♦ Irreplaceable Love (与晨同光) with Sun Yi and Bai Jing Ting to air on 11/27. Lord, this sounds so melo! Sun Yi, are you crowned the queen of melo dramas yet? Our heroine loses her younger brother in an accident and in order to keep the secret from disturbing her already mentally-fragile mother, she asks the orphan (male lead) across the street to pose as her dead brother. O_O

=======> ♦ Eternal Love Rain (倾世锦鳞谷雨来) with He Hua and Wang Run Ze to air 11/28. According to Qiyi, the story is: Ning Xiu Rui, the second Royal Highness of the Dragon Clan, secretly snuck onto land to play but encountered a great drought that hasn’t been seen in a thousand years. Ignoring his father’s words, he made rain fall and even gave the clan’s treasured Ni Lin to a girl named Jin’er to help relieve the epidemic in her fishing village. It’s based on the novel written by Xian Cheng, depicting a quiet but circular romance among all the characters. This is Li Yi Tong‘s harem romance. Both of our leads were born into rich but grew up in broken households. She’s stubborn and considered by many as weird and he’s a man who couldn’t protect his love five years ago. In the presence, she begins dating Lu Yi‘s character to ingratiate herself with her father. Two broken hearts, could they heal each other with time?
