70 episodes! Aren’t the censors enforcing their 40-ish eps edict?

Lol. I didn’t even check the number of episodes, but 70! o.o

I’m confused myself, sometimes they will enforce it, and sometimes not. It’s pretty inconsistent and some even say it’s merely a suggestion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

RIGHT?! He really does look like Yang Yang in some angles. ZYL + YY in the same drama has been my dream for so long. I’m going to squint my way thru their scenes together so I could have that.

HJJ is handsome, no need to squint. 😉

…70 eps of dragging, running around in circle plot with tons of fillers that conclude with lots of questions unanswered, only to end with random twist on what little plot points they did resolve and turn these into new unanswered mystery as a hook for S2 that will never come. Thats how much faith I have for this lost tomb franchise lol.

70 episodes?????? The novel wasn’t even completed the last time I read it, and it was not very long either, how are they gonna have 70 episodes?

AND ZYL always looks so good when spitting blood cries, I still rmb those scenes in Guardian. So far in the trailer I am not so convinced with ZYL’s Wu Xie though, as much as I love him and I know he has great acting skills, but I still kinda see ZYL instead of Wu Xie in the trailer. Praying that the drama will be good..

Vaguely remember reading about an apology of sorts, or explanations, from the author of the novel who was also the scriptwriter of the novel’s drama adaptation – The Legends. She said that she was initially told, and wrote a 30-something episode drama. Later, she was told to add ~20 eps. So, she filled it with lots of conflicts that didn’t exist in her novel, lots of characters running around, additional killing off of characters, and a confusing ending/non-ending/alt-ending.

I’m psyched that this is finally airing. But the episode count already suggests there will be fillers and plot lines unrelated to the novel, ugh. I just have to endure it, I guess.

    70 episodes?!! whattttt.

the censor people suck. you put out a rule and don’t enforce it.

It wasn’t a rule though; technically it was a strong suggestion. They’re probably letting this pass because it was well into production before the new guidelines came out. There are multiple stages to checking/passing censorship, so it might just be that this one submitted its plan/script for 70 eps long ago so it’s filed at 70 eps. They’ll either let it pass as is, or decide to review it before/during early broadcast and have them cut it down then…

I love this series and always looking forward for the next , but I was Hopi g that the original cast will be back. Somehow the new cast member doesn’t click me. This time is book 4 and ? 70episodes it’s long if only one or two books. The last one is 40 episode from two books?

This isn’t about book 4! It’s the sequel after the ending of the last book 🙂

Could’ve been a short and engaging drama to revive my interest in tomb-raiding dramas but argh 70 episodes is ridiculous. Was looking forward to Zhu Yi Long, Mao Xiao Tong and Huang Jun Jie…

lmao I have enough love for the franchise/novels that I’ll watch this unless it’s really really terrible. I honestly don’t have high expectations anyways so I hope they’ll be met. As long as it’s at least on the level of Tomb of the Sea, I’ll prob really like it, lmao. I don’t even mind if ZLY takes some liberties interpreting WuXie. I just need good chemistry between the three bros. That’s the one thing I want. Qin Hao as WuXie in Tomb of the Sea and all the older-gen buddies (and Qiling in flashbacks) were SO good.

What do you think?
