Adapted from the novel Rock Sugar And Pear Stew written by Jiu Xiao Qi, Skate Into Love features an adorable romance between two people who are fated to meet again chasing after their dreams on ice. When they were little, our heroine constantly teased our timid and quiet hero. They meet again during college and the table has turned. He’s now a popular hockey player while she’s bumbling along. He’s on a mission for payback but proximity to her sparks a different kind of feeling and in return, he helps her discover her passion for speed-skating again.
Airing 3/19! This looks wicked adorable and I have faith in the leads!

I…very much am adoring the drama. Entirely way too much. It’s VERY cute, the acting is VERY natural, the plot seems to be mostly sticking with the book (I only read a bit of the beginning but from what I remember) and is well paced (doesn’t drag. Even the supporting lines/arcs are fun and well done). The sports theme for once is ACTUALLY very inspiring and the sports shots were convincing. (Which honestly is so exciting and rare for me bc sports themed youth romance dramas from China are rarely well done but they’re — romance optional — are usu some of my fav tropes/genres).

Zhang Xin Cheng looks nothing like a hockey player but I love him.
My issue with the drama is that it’s all fluff.

I love it. Natural acting. Cute. Fun. Entertaining. Messes with real life expectations of romance. The all nine yards.
