Sword Dynasty (剑王朝) is the upcoming novel-to-drama adaptation written by Wu Zui. The drama is being produced by film director Feng Xiao Gang and has two anime adaptations so far, from China (04/2016) and Japan (01/2018). Rising faces Li Xian (Go Go Squid) and Li Yi Tong (Bloody Romance) will lead. The story follows a young man with a mission and vengeance in mind to overthrow the Qin dynasty as he was betrayed before by the emperor and empress, the woman he has once loved. Li Yi Tong plays the eldest daughter from the Gongsun’s family.
Another drama of Li Yi Tong gets to jump off the shelve! She has quite a few more up there. And she looks beautiful in here!

That hairstyle with the fringe is a big no no on Li Xian. Li Yitong has the best styling of the bunch here while Peter Ho has an unflattering hair
Hoping the drama will be successful and a plot that isn’t like Begonia Rouge (anything but this)

The curls on Peter Ho’s hair looks awful. But still looks better than the Qing-style half-bald/pigtail hairdo in his last drama.

Having watched it up to ep 3 (raw), I must say I dislike the styling. Perhaps because I’m also currently watching Royal Nirvana, in which everything looks elegant, sleek, and natural, the clothing and hair in Sword Dynasty — and Joy of Life — look cheap in comparison. Also, I agree with anon above about Peter Ho’s curls.
On the other hand, as I said in the chatbox, I’m loving the strong wuxia vibe. It does feel like old-school wuxia drama to me. The fighting scenes are great so far, I hope they keep it throughout the 34 episodes.
