The plot of Wiki, “In order to find a child fated by a falling comet that will bring calamity, the “Lingjian” (灵剑) clan resumes its entrance examination process to find disciples. Wang Lu, who possesses a special soul that only appears once in a thousand years, decides to take the exam and goes down the path toward becoming an exceptional sage.”
=======> ♦ White Snake Legend (白蛇传) with Sun Xiao Xiao, Lu Hong and Zhang Tian Yang to air on 1/18!
=======> ♦ Exclusive Memory (独家记忆) with Zhang Chao and Li Ting Ting started airing on 1/14.
=======> ♦ Jue Shi Qian Jin (绝世千金) with Zheng Jiao Hong, Gong Jun, Fang Yi Lun began airing on 1/17. This seems like the Go Princess Go type of comedy drama. Adapted from a game, our 21st century heroine is transported into a game? where she plays heroine and meets various men and must pass many hardships to gain entry back into the real world. Hmm. You guys gotta let me know how this goes. Lol.
=======> ♦ The Legend of Hao Lan with Wu Jing Yan and Mao Zi Jun begins airing 1/19! Yay for Mr. Mao!
=======> ♦ Modern drama The Most Beautiful Thing (最动听的事) with Wang Yi Lun and Zhao Lu Si drops trailer. They are both cute-looking people. Might be a good break for those who wants fluffy puppies playing together. =D
=======> ♦ Candle In The Tomb: The Wrath of Time (鬼吹灯之怒晴湘西) with Pan Yue Ming, Gao Wei Guang, and Xin Zhi Lei to air on 1/21!
=======> ♦ 36 minute trailer for Deng Lun and Li Yi Tong’s republican drama, Hai Tang Jing Yu Yan Zhi Tou (海棠经雨胭脂透), rumored to air soon in February! It’s vietsubbed as well for fans who understand. If you don’t want spoilers, don’t watch the trailer, basically revealing everything. Lol.
=======> ♦ Zhu Yi Long’s old cop drama in 2012 with Huo Zheng Yan, Skynet Action (天网行动) gets an airdate on 2/11 to quench fans’ thirst for the breakout actor. It’s long overdue for Yi Long to shine!

I am not interested in the plot for Deng Lun and Li Yi Tong’s drama but I am going to give it a try because I just love those two and they look so good in their costumes…:)
I am surprise about ZYL’s old drama…I think he was only a side character but they boosted him up to main lead status for promotion lol Still I’ll check it out for him 🙂

Yas! I’m looking forward to There Once was a Spirit Blade Mountain, The Most Beautiful Thing, and Pan Yue Ming’s new Candle in Tomb. The first one is bc I really like Guo TingTing and she’s so underappreciated. Also love that her character bio on baike baidu says that she’s a fighting powerhouse (soooo rare for female characters…that aren’t like “cold aloof with a scar in their heart” …for RPG/gaming-style/fantasy dramas female characters in the group tend to be medics/”support”/brains/or just plain flower vase with magic powers occasionally). Also cuz, shallow thought here, but Xu Kai’s pretty cute…
The Most Beautiful Thing looks so fluffy and adorable~~! Also, the new Candle in Tomb I have high expectations (ish, relatively) bc I generally prefer tomb-raiding genre anyways (barring the really boring ones or the cringey fake idol one — yes Wang DaLu, Gina, I’m looking at ur guys’s drama — which is like …90% of that market, rip). Also bc while I’ve never really seen anything from PanYueMing and XinZhiLei (yes, Day and Night (also Burning Ice) is on my to-watch list…but I’ll watch it when I get back into cop/case dramas aka after I watch Original Sin), I trust their reputation for good acting and good script.

So White Snake Legend gets an air date, but The Legend of White Snake is still TBD.

I watched some of Jue Shi Qian Jin lol. First few eps was really really cringey but once you get past that it’s kinda fun. The female lead gets better with more emotional/serious scenes compared to her silliness and fawning over hot guys. There are four guys though she only falls for 2 of them – typical domineering prince that she bickers with vs restrained bodyguard with conflicting loyalties. So you know from start how that’s gonna end haha. Not much “gaming” but save and game over does play a key part early on. Skip-watched the rest of the drama cos I’m too lazy. Overall not bad for if you just want something lighthearted to watch.
