Adapted from the same-name novel written by Xiao Qi Xiao, Age of Legends (橙红年代) is an upcoming modern drama starring William Chan and Sandra Ma as leads. William is 30 years old, representing young men with a burning ardor, persevering to the top despite his humble background, displaying stories of love from all around. With a strong sense of justice and courage, he gathers a group of like-minded men. Due to an incident, he disappears from the world for 8 years, returning to find his dad beat up and admitted to the hospital. After delivering his brand of punishment to the deserved people, the nurses fall for his charms and upon meeting our female lead, the cop in charge of the case, they butt heads immediately. Doesn’t help that she discovers his involvement with a case from 8 years ago and is determined to uncover more dirt about him. Sandra plays a 23-year old feisty police woman, the beauty of the bureau with a temper to boot.

Just after I put my comment on the previous Age of Legend post, this post came up! Oh well, let me just copy it lol:

I checked the first episode and chuckled when I saw the white baddie people. TBH it feels kinda campy, but perhaps I need a proper rewatching to get used to it. It’s an action thriller drama, after all. Liu Yijun first appearance is quite comedic, but now I’m not sure.

I like it so far. My favorite baddie from Fuyao is perfect casting here. And I like the two leads. I’m looking forward to Sandra Ma’s character finally getting involved in the story in the next episodes. I’ve only seen the first two episodes, but so far I’m hopeful.

Yes! Was looking forward to this news that DF licensed it. Loved him in love lost in time with Liu Shi Shi. Also love Sandra but wasn’t able to finish Love me if you dare (for whatever reason, I have never finish a drama with Wallace Huo in it). Looking forward to this pairing.

Thanks for the info! I’ve watched raw episodes w/ quite a lot of FF, but will definitely rewatch with subs, because apart from the campy beginning, the show slowly becomes more decent. Liking Sandra & William’s interaction so far.

I’ve watched it (with plenty of ff-ings, I must admit) up to ep 13. Last time I checked, DF subs are available until ep 6, but maybe it’s updated now. Anyway, I’m enjoying it more than I expected. It’s still campy (although like I said in chatbox it gets better after ep 3), plots are all over the place, you must throw your logic out of the window. Suspension of belief must be in full gear, and sometimes even more so than in the xianxia/wuxia dramas lololol. BUT, it’s a lot of fun, quite action-packed, it sort of reminds me of the old HK police dramas (though I didn’t watch a lot of them). I find William HAWT in his tanned skin and pornstache and some biceps (ahem),,, and he actually shows some depth! Liu Yijun and Sebrina seem like having fun with their roles, and yayyyyy to William and Sandra’s chemistry! I was worried because the trailer didn’t show it. The drama milks the OTP moments which I can’t complain at all! So far I like all the side characters, esp William’s best friends and Sandra’s young captain aka William’s potential love rival. Since I’m still in my BR withdrawal phase, this drama is to me a nice way to relieve some of the angst. I like it also because our hero isn’t a cold-outside-warm-inside CEO, but he works in a restaurant and lives in a humble/modest house… quite refreshing, I’d say.

What do you think?
