Hi all, this is just a notice regarding future Martial Universe Episode Recaps!

After much discussion surrounding the future of these posts, we’ve decided to put it up to a vote by our lovely readers~
Since the start of the series, there has been a debate within the recap team surrounding whether or not to write recaps for individual episodes as the series progresses for the whole 40 Episodes (with 20 more in Season 2). As much as Enid Bee is getting into the drama, IMOmusings is fleeing as fast as she can!
Many of you may have realised by now that the drama isn’t particularly accurate to the novel and as such the characterisations are more geared to being a fresh take on it along with pretty faces.
Now to the important question:
Would you guys like us to continue the recaps for the series or are you content just to pop in and out watching it without input from us?
Should we decide to go ahead with these recaps, there will be a delay in this week’s posting as we’ve put the recaps on hold until it’s been decided.

Tbh, I should probably have no say here because I haven’t been watching it, and basically have no intention of checking it out purely from lack of interest. BUT that said, if you guys WERE to do recaps (which whatever the decision is, thank you so much because recaps take SO much time and effort…and commitment) I would probably pop in and out of READING them just out of curiosity.

This drama unfortunately falls under the list of not-interested for me. Plus early reviews havnt been encouraging. Thanks for making the effort to recap but i would probably skip post of MU-recaps

Just want to say thank you
I been enjoying the series and like seeing the recaps afterwards to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I don’t speak Chinese and reading subtitles can cause me to miss nuances and such that you guys fill in. I do understand that this is not highly regarded and people think the story is a bit lame. But I guess I don’t know any better and is enjoying it 🙂

I could not say yeah or nay about the recaps, because I am not watching the drama. I applaud the literary efforts of the recappers, and admire their skills at transcribing from “screen” to “paper”, the details of the episodes. That is such a complex process, because there is no script hard copy to utilize.
I dropped out of the drama after episode 2. YY’s character was so infantile and the other characters, the storyline and sets didn’t inspire me, to stay with the drama. I decided to wait a few weeks, and pick it up again, At episode 16, I didn’t feel that the drama had gained momentum. I have decided to try again at episode 20. At some point, the drama has to rev up. I guess that they started out with the drama inertia (…I invented that terminology), to get it out of the way.

Yes, please! The recaps do help me decide whether I should watch the episodes or not, and they’re remarkably well done.

I was interested in watching this drama, a year ago. I wanted to see Yang Yang step outside the box, and tackle an epic costume, historical drama. Most of the C-dramas, that I have watched, have used questionable editing techniques, like jumbled logic. And the repetitive singing that overpowers the acting performance. OMG!
