Listening Snow Tower is a wuxia novel written by Cang Yue, first book in a trilogy. The name of the series stands for the name of the manor in the novel, a famous assassinating organization led by our enigmatic hero – Xiao Yi Qing (actor Qin Jun Jie), who is on a quest to rule jianghu and has built the place on blood and tears. Standing by his side is his beloved person Shu Jing Rong (actress Yuan Bing Yan), who is tied to him with the promise that she will only serve someone who can beat her. Unfortunately, the cold and unbending hero is laden with an incurable disease and his life could end anytime. Likewise, she’s distrustful of everyone around her. It’s an epic romance between two extraordinary people and how they think those around them don’t end up…well….alive.

I randomly watched a clip of an interview with Jessica Hsuan a few days ago where she talked about playing a villain role in a mainland drama, I guess this is it. She said she accidentally cut someone with her fingernails during filming lol

This is something I look forward to — a drama based on a real wuxia story, not xianxia or some palace romance. Sure we have the newest adaptation of Jin Yong’s novels every other year, occasionally Gu Long’s in between — but how I miss a decent wuxia drama, with decent fighting choreography! LOCH 2017 was great, but it was a rare case these days. I hope the execution will be right, although I still fear they will add too much romance, grrrhh… Also, I’ll always associate Crystal Yuan to her annoying character in Mystic Nine, so I’m unsure if she’ll portray a badass heroine — but i hope she proves me wrong. Excited for Lu Fang Sheng, though! He was fantastic in Tribes & Empires, comical in Oh My General, in short the guy is very talented and hot with facial hair too!

Same about the decent wuxia drama need! I actually kind of like Crystal Yuan bc she’s so cute (yeah, I shallow lol). To some extent I didn’t really care about Mystic Nine (honestly, the only part of Mystic Nine that made an impression on me was ZLY’s cute self), so her character didn’t bother me.
