Two more dramas coming your way in the next week!
=======> ♦ The Lost Swordship (飘香剑雨) or literal translation Flowing Fragrance Sword Rain is the drama adaptation of Gu Long’s novel. His stories are less famous than Jin Yong and not everyone is familiar with these titles, even I have to say I didn’t watch the older movie adaptation in 1978! The new version has Ren Yan Kai (Yes! Mr. Fashion) and Wu You (Because of You) as the leads. From Amazon reviews, it’s a story about the mysterious martial arts clan: “The Sky Clan is a deadly cult. Their masked leader, known as The Bishop wants to rule the Martial Arts world. He has killed most of the top fighters of the other factions, only the long lost fragrant sword style has escaped his clan’s grasp. Swordsman Lu Nan-Jen (Tien Peng) is the heir to the fragrant sword style and is now the main target of the Sky Clan. Using all his cunning and skill, Lu Nan-Jen manages to fend off all The Bishop’s legions of fighters and swordsmen who want to capture him.”
The Lost Swordship premieres on 2/8 with 36 episodes.

=======> ♦ In Beyond Light Years, Chen Ruo Xuan is a star student in the IT department and our heroine (played by Josie Xu Jiao) is a first year student – a normal student like anyone else with an interest in reading and writing Kungfu novels (hence the interesting trailers). His cold personality meets with her sunshine personality on her first day in school, leading to many misunderstandings down the line before they eventually work together to tackle college life and troubles. She finally publishes her novel, while he’s successful in his career. Let’s watch as they reap the seed of hard work and discover a love ideal to them both.

Beyond Light Years premieres on 1/31 with 30 episodes.

Kind of interested in checking out both. I like Chen Ruo Xuan but not a fan of Xu Jiao. For the other show, the guy was like, dead-face in Yes! Mr. Fashion (actually IMO basically no one could act in that show) but Wu You is REALLY pretty (and she was a really successful aka hateful, despicable, and pathetic villain in Because of You, so there’s hope she has some skill).

I think I’ve watched an earlier version of this where the guy is some miracle martial artist bearing the legacy of his father (i.e. martial arts and a map to profound treasure) and the main female is way too naive….the two manage to meet when he first falls into a valley and is luckily saved by her – but the mother hates him because she fears he will take her daughter away. I hope I’m wrong because I hated the heroine in that one @_@

Mhm…while some of the visuals from the first trailer look nice, it doesn´t really say what this story is about-thanks to you synopsis one has an inkling..but still…the trailer also doesn´t excite me or makes me want to watch it…I guess I will wait until it has finished airing to decide whether to watch or not.
The second drama looks cute…I really hope that if there are kisses..they either don´t show them from close up or they are good…I am still traumatised by the frozen-block-kisses from LoveO20.

Yeah, those kisses were the worst. I kept wondering if it was a rule that actresses needed to stay completely still during a kissing scene. She looked like she was in pain.

Gu Long’s novels surprisingly have better (and much stronger) female characters than Jin Yong’s, so I’m always hoping that GL novels will one day be as known as JY’s.

I recently saw the Beyond Light Years trailer and my first thought was that they were doing a sequel to Love 020. Looks kind of interesting, but still in the maybe pile for me.
