Honestly aside from various reality shows and Tribes and Empires, all my energy has gone into finals, so….lackluster input me. Planning on potato-ing all of break…Time to catch up on Netflix + new dramas. Btw, Riverdale was awesome; watched all of season 1 last month.

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Same. Lackluster input for me due to finals and school in general but I haven’t gotten the chance to watch most of T&E episodes.
I’m planning to be a couch potato too lol.
I still need to watch Brooklyn Nine Nine. I remembered when everyone was so into Riverdale and then GOT followed by Stranger Things. Never jumped on that binge and excitement train 😛

it’s so trashy but somehow so addicting. All the dramas. lol. It’s like Gotham where all the bad guys run and the rest of the world doesn’t give a shit. Riverdale’s like all the shitty, amoral, dumb ppl in the same town doing their own batshit crazy and the rest of the US doesn’t give any shits. It’s addicting as hell tho.

Aw.. loved the black & white pic of newlyweds Fu Xinbo & Ying Er.. and the little guy or girl on the way soooo cute!

I watched the first 6 episodes of “Seven of me”, the Chinese version of Kill Me-Heal Me..
At first I wasn´t sure if I would like this remake..because I have never seen the actors before and Zhang Yi Shan is not as buff as Ji Sung and I wasn´sure if he has the “presence” for his role.
I have to say that I am pleasently surprised!! He can really pull of the different characters and another plus is that Cai Wen Jing´s interpretation of her character is more to my liking than the K-version. She is not as shrill and loud. From now on, I will watch this drama as its own story, leaving the K-version aside.

    Gosh…Shawn Dou is really drool-worthy..

    1. Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. I know i’m late to the party, but the synopsis just contain stuff that i dislike the most in a drama, i.e. lost memories, misunderstanding, etc. But i was on a drama rut, so i watched this with low expectation, and wow, what a gem. Mark Chao & Yang Mi just kill it. I still fast forward all the stuff that i allergic to, meaning a lot of the middle arc, but the last arc just so-oh-awesome (minus the whole reincarnation thing that bored me to no end). It’s been a while since i rewatch a drama again & again. So for anyone like me that hate those stupid cliche, i still going to recommend this drama big time.

    2. The Advisors Alliance. I’m a long time fan of Three Kingdoms (mostly because i play the game), so i just had to watch this. And it’s really good, i do think it’s still a level below Nirvana in Fire, but most definitely above your average chinese drama. But this is just me nitpicking, the drama was not exactly historically accurate, which understandable, and the last quarter of the drama kinda slow, but probably because there’s another season.

    3. Across The Ocean to See You. This is a really nice rom-com, i like the leads relationship, from neighbor, friend, and lover. But like much romance drama, the last quarter just lame, with noble sacrifice & separation, just to have a happy ending on the last 15 minutes. But i still love it, cause the male lead character is not a douche, hurray!

    4. Argon. This is a memorable one. Finished it on the weekend, kinda hoping for a sequel, and the next day read the sad news. Rest In Peace Kim Joo Hyuk, and thank you, Lover In Prague will always be one of my favorite drama of all time.

    5. Because This Is My First Life. I would’ve enjoyed this much more if i haven’t watch Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu. It was weirdly similar. Not the story, but the little things. Either way, i like it.

    6. 20th Century Boy and Girl. It was cute. Good at the beginning, but kinda end with a whimper. It’s weird for me to say this, but it kinda lack the big drama conflict. For those who are tired of “makjang” dramas, could watch this to refresh yourself.

    7. Deserving of The Name. Fun rom-com, Kim Nam Gil & Kim Ah Joong got a good chemistry.

    8. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Lame story, but the adorable lead couple just sooo, well, adorable. I already know that Park Bo Young is a very good actress, but Park Hyung Sik kinda suprised me here (in a good way).

    9. Detective Yugami. This drama is unexpectedly good. It was fun & so hilarious at times.

    10. Hello Harinezumi. All in one. The type of cases in this drama just so broad. Thriller case – check, horror case – check, family drama case – check, romance case – check, etc. I kinda like it, it’s unique, but not for everybody.

    11. Bunch of Japanese movie/SP. Border Shokuzai, the long awaited sequel of Border, still good. Peach Girl, cute and fluffy. Kiseki:Sobito of That Day, GREEEEN, great music. Blade of The Immortal, not as good as Rurouni Kenshin, but still awesome and bloody. Daytime Shooting Star, really good, more grounded and less fluffy than Peach Girl, started to read the manga.

Lols beside argon and the advisor, i’ve watched all the dramas. I recommend u to watch black kdrama (even the last two episodes were annoying but yeah, it got you thrilled.

Im currently watching my golden life… I like it. Im not a robot and jugglers are two my current fave romcom. Not a fan of romcom actually.

But guys, try Wise Prison Life… Fun with black comedy.

A love so beautiful was cute and fun to watch. It brought back some of school memories… First love, friendship, school life but well, everyone has their own happy ending tho.

Money flower, hmm.. I hate melodrama (when life is already hard why should we spend the time crying over someone’s life, right?) But end up curious about this. Happy or sad ending, probably just another open ending.. Typically korean makjang drama. Sigh.

I’ve watched and dropped many dramas. Lols.

I’m currently viewing Tribes & empire, Money Flower, Rule t World, Fox in Screen and Sing Along. I just finished a love so beautiful which i loved.

  6. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Tribes & Empires is emotionally draining to watch and taking up most of my time.

I’ve started Your Highness since it was mentioned in the comment box XD It’s a bit different from the usual time-travelling dramas and has some funny moments.

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Forgot I’ve also been watching My Ages Apart. Love the cast and the dialogue! The drama itself is kinda silly but creative. Laughed so much over some of the situations that the characters got into.

    1) Tribes and Empires – I’m currently on episode 24 (up to where it’s subbed on DF) and it’s still so good. Intriguing storylines for all its leads, great acting, and so much detail and beauty in every shot. Going to be very sad when it starts dragging.

    2) With You – Thanks Dramafever! pleasantly surprised that this was subbed. Tang Songyun is a lot quieter here and as always I enjoy her acting. Liu Haoran is very cute and charming although the jealously from the love triangle is starting to grate on me. It’s very slice of life . I’m having a hard time warming up to lead #2, but from DF comments a lot of people like.

    3) Where the Lost Ones Go – I’ve been slow to start this due to all the other dramas going on but I enjoy what I’ve seen so far and I’m looking forward to geting back into it. I wish it was more popular in China

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

      Hey there,
this is rare to find someone talking about “where the lost ones go” .
where the lost ones go has a very K-drama-ish feelings/filter/looks to it.
Probably coz I think the female lead looks like a k-drama lead. lol

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

about where the lost ones go: i sort dropped it, haha just remembered, coz the female lead is too innocent in a submissive way, and he grabbed her hand and she get dragged by him (kdrama style). At one point it reminds me of High School Musical, and the show looks like it’s gonna be so saaaaadddd sad later. The ending credits was sad.

but ohhhh fresh face male lead he’s gooood lookin’. . . I stayed for like 5 episodes for him then I dropped. XD

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

With You!! My favourite youth drama! I like that it’s so slice of life and all the characters have their flaws and worries. I also couldn’t really get into the second male lead ever. And I know a lot of people complain about the ending but I didn’t mind it, I think it goes well with the slice of life style. The reason why I like it so much is probably because it reminds me of my high school days with struggles and insecurities about the future and all, it just seems very down to earth. And Yu Huai was that boy that we all had in our high schools, whereas a lot of the leads in other youth dramas such as in A Love So Beautiful, the male lead wasn’t as realistic so it’s hard to associate him with my own high school days.

Watching where the lost ones go…and keeping my schedule free for the upcoming kdrama Hwayugi..can’t wait to see Korea’s take on the journey to the west characters.

Completed Princess Agent: 2 nights marathon. The Craziest love triangle.
    hahahaha
(I’m late) I dropped it when it was airing coz I agreed with AvenueX that the bright lighting was insane.
Now, I Wanted to try it coz “what were all the buzz back then?”
Now I get the appeal of this series. It’s entertaining; however, there’s a lot of things to criticise.
Did not feel like it was a waste of time though.
    It entertained me enough. haha

I’m in the middle of The Fox’s Summer, and it is simply darling. I am enjoying the main actress SO much. I first noticed her in the movie version of Love O2O, and thought at the time “oh, it would be great to see her in a main role”.

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Tan Song Yun is great in Fox’s Summer … there were problems with the drama and it was a bit too long but I still really enjoyed for her … the male lead got better the second half. I actually watched My Mr. Mermaid because of Tan Song Yun but didn’t finished …

  11. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Watching “Where the Lost Ones Go”. Like Jen said above I wish it was more popular in China. Nice antidote to the usually brightly lit fluffy idol youth dramas. Directing and writing are great and the main couple are excellent, have great chemistry and actually act like a believable real couple onscreen with physical affection and kissing unlike the chaste playground level relationships so many Asian drama teens have. It’s fortunately being subbed on Youtube!

  12. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Finally started watching Tribes and Empires, onto episode 25 but it’s starting to drag a little for me. So I’ve started watching it on increased speed haha When the talking drags on I put it on in the background until a interesting part comes up again.

Nothing else interests me at the moment but my holidays are going to be a busy one. So I’m currently waiting for Fu Yao and Heavy Sweetness, Ash Like Frost.

    Hi, everybody!

I’m in a bit of a kdrama period apparently. Just finished Black (awesome, which is incredible considering that initialy my opinion of the acting skills of the leading couple wasn’t very high). Before that there was Revolutionary Love and now I’m waiting for Hwaygi.
Regarding cdramas, nothing has been able to hold my attention, soooo I’m rewatching old stuff – currently Swordsman 2013.

Came back to look at Shawn Dou’s handsomeness again! Gorgeous man! 😀

  16. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

I just recently finished Rule the World and by that I mean I watched only the OTP cuts. There are so many novel adaptations these days and most of them aren’t that great, but this was just terrible. Such a waste because the cast delivered on the acting and the music/OST was pretty good. There might not be another drama on Huangtaiji and Hailanzhu anytime soon, so this is what we’re left with for the time being. Meh.

Another drama that I’m kind of following is the Flowers one with Peter Ho, Viann Zhang and Zhu Yi Long. Actually, I’m only watching Zhu Yi Long cuts. The plot just doesn’t speak to me, but I still want to see the pretty. There are a lot of scenes between him and Viann, so it’s almost like I’m getting closure from Border Town Prodigal. They had terrific chemistry there and it’s still kind of strong here.

This isn’t a drama but I’m watching CCTV’s National Treasure hosted by Zhang Guoli. It’s a show where they invite actors to take part in telling the story of an important Chinese historical artifact and also become their “protectors”. Totally up my alley since I love history.

    • 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Not watching National Treasures myself, but I think there’s an ep with Wang Kai! I saw it in a youtube thumbnail on my feed.

  17. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Lackluster here as well. Mostly because I’ve been working on Let’s Shake It subs. But also for some reason even though I want to watch Tribes and Empires and Game of Hunting, I mostly keep rewatching A Fox’s Summer, Love 020, Eternal Love and King is Not Easy though I did finish this season Daddy Where Are We Going? Kind of curious about Seven-Faced Man though. The clips I’ve seen of it on Weibo are…interesting.

  18. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

So many dramas and so little time to watch them… But one day, I’ll finish all them.

Stand by Me (Yi Qi Tong Guo Chuang) season 2 – The first season was AWESOME. First episode of 2nd season didn’t disappoint either. The only two things that sort of turned me off was Lu Qiaochuan’s new hairstyle (don’t cover your forehead, boy!) and making Yu Hao more effeminate (in the 1st season, he had the perfect balance between effeminateness and manliness).

My Huckleberry Friends – The sister class to “With You”. It’s funny how them allude to the other drama every so often. Like when the characters look at the school ranking chart or read the BBS forum, Geng Geng/Yu Haui/Lu Xing He’s names would pop up.

Where the Lost Ones Go – The cavity inducing sweetness of college years is tempered by the bitter melancholy of adult years. I cross my fingers for a happy ending, even if it is not the fairy tale one.

Tribes and Empires – It would’ve been a great drama if it could stop treating us like goldfish. I can do without the flashbacks.

Black Knight – I like the chemistry between the OTP but I’m still iffy about everything else.

Lion Pride – He is set up to be like a Sherlock Holmes and yet he can’t recognize the woman in front of him is the same woman he fell in love with at the lightless restaurant. How can he not recognize her voice? Or at least ponder, “Oh, her voice sounds familiar?” Seriously?

  19. 32 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (14)

Smart Prison Living : Worth watching
Tribes & Empires : The editing needs work but overall pretty good.
Let’s Shake It : Thank you for subbing this.
Untouchable: TBH I tuned in for Jung Eun-ji, disappointed there, however, Kim Sung-Kyun does a good job as a gangster. Hard to believe he was the geeky dad in Reply 1988. Other than his performance, the show is lacking.
