NOOOOOO! I refuse to accept this when I saw all the preview and post on weibo 🙁 🙁 🙁
I already accepted the fact that maybe SXY and ZY may not end up together but this is just soooo unfair…poor SXY… and ZY’s dad too! 🙁 🙁 🙁 There is still quite a number of episodes left and I can’t imagine without SXY… I hope it was fake and ZY will realize her feeling….

Spoiler if you want to know…
I saw some previews where SXY came back with beards, I believe he did not die and just faked it. Yes, after so many people dying like that, SXY definitely cannot die too, that would be too unfair.

HEY is the kid Ali? I recognize the voice but I can’t be too sure of the face because of the different hair style. He’s so cute and so funny!!!

OMG!!! I did not know that Wu Pin’s mother was Guan Yin from JTTW 96, my favorite childhood actress! She played in many Justice Bao series too, and she was in The Snow is Red, I do not know her real name, but I like her a lot.

Wu Yi is a very natural actress I like her too, I just love all the voices, that’s the best part about this show. All of their voices are so professional and not annoyingly fake. But I’ve heard both Yang Mi and Zhao Liying’s real voices before and I don’t really like their real voices though, so in some cases I preferred some people dubbed. I can hear some of Peter Ho’s pronunciations very different, but besides that, his voice itself is very very soothing and good, I actually preferred him dubbed but the dubber just got to be better than Peter bc all he’s missing is only the pronunciation.

By this far, this show is very good and I love it from the beginning to where I’m at now, I’m sure the ending will be a success since I’m still not bored at a total of 60 episodes already. Although I’m quite bitter at how stupid and silly Zhou Ying’s dad die by the hands of someone like Yong Mei, come on, she was attacking them and they decided to go sit and talk? They’ve been through much more dangerous fights but they lose to Yong Mei.

Oh dang, Yoyo! We come from the same era. Lol. She’s Mimi Kung Chi Yan and yes, I remember her most in JTTW 1996 and The Snow is Red too! Just love her sharp eyes.

Oh boy Chen Xiao is alive but I ended up not too happy at what he’s currently doing. But oh Peter peter, he also came back for a 1 minute and GOD he is the warmest person ever on earth, that minute was just heavenly. Love how that lovely father creeps behind, unusually, he was not his lousy self, can’t praise how much I love the surrealness of that moment. Yesterday the episode ended when the wolf jumped towards ZY and the kid, my god I was crying who would make it till tomorrow when an episode ended like that? For sure they’re not going to die but it made me so curious.
I only remember liking Peter Ho in Crouching Tiger with Shui Ling, speaking of of Shui Ling I used to think (maybe still think) Sun Li resembles her a lot. He was very cute in there but then I never liked any of his other series afterward. He played as a very “nice” person in Butterfly Lovers but he lacked that special heart-warming aura until this year.
Love that kid too, I really liked how Sun Li chosed him and how he passed all the tests, he was a brat at times but cute.

I really hope the OST is available soon and Chen Xiao’s version of Yisa Yu’s song is available. Can’t wait to sit down and watch the whole series properly.

did he sing a version of the song too? I downloaded the whole OST the other day, did not see his version of the song. I swear I cry every single time Yi Xiang Qing Yuan De Bu She is being played during the show. T___T

Did I missed a discussion post? I’m just at epi 50 now and cannot find the post for the epis before 60😅

Although there are many times during the show that I wanna shake the scriptwriter, I’m still largely enjoying the show, the cinematography and of cos the excellent performance by the actors. And Chen Xiao, what a revelation! Honestly think that he deserves much more. Saw a comment from weibo which sums him up quite well: he may have been in some mediocre shows, but his acting is nv mediocre. Looking forward to new works from him!

I feel like Wu Yi got a lot more forgiveness by the script and other characters than Hu Yongmei did, which bothers me a bit. Hu Yongmei and Dou Mingli are outright villains/antagonists, so in a sense they are honest opponents of the protagonist. Wu Yi is a betrayal for really petty reasons, with one of the reasons being quite similar to Hu Yongmei’s sense of superiority over Zhou Ying, but Wu Yi got forgiven so easily just because she’s family!

To me, a family/close friend betrayal is worse than straight opposition. Perhaps one could say Wu Yi got her comeuppance via her death, but Zhou Ying came and forgave her at the last moment and Zhao Baishi also treated Wu Yi well after she confessed all her feelings and sins to him.

Zhao Baishi ended up a lot more awesome as a character than I expected in the beginning when he was the stiffest straight man ever. I actually like how the ‘new’ relationship between Zhao Baishi and Dou Mingli is portrayed in the recent episodes. We’ve seen often the dynamic between Dou Mingli and Shen Sihai where Dou Mingli has the upper hand, but when standing next to Zhao Baishi, Dou Mingli looks really pathetic using the Prince over and over again to try and threaten Zhao Baishi.

Hope Ren Zhong gets some good roles after this. Only problem I feel with him is his line delivery often slips into a whispery voice, though in other dramas it would be overwritten by dubbing.

I hope the same for Zhao Baishi too, I did not know he was a darn handsome guy back then, now he is a bit old but still has charisma. I actually like his voice, yeah he does whisper at times but since his pronunciations are pretty good his voice came off quite professional in my opinion. I just want him and Sun Li to do some Wuxia dramas, my favorite genre. Please no fantasies. They’d never style Sun Li beautiful ever before (except Mural), not even here, Legend of Zhen Huan, or Ming Yue. She just magically passed with a variety of ugly bangs and made them work.
