Sailor Moon! Oh man…. this brings back memories. Lol. A lot of updates for movies from new stills to new teasers/songs; a huge chunk taken from the next news batch and some you might have seen on AVV twitter as I battled against site issues!
=======> ♦ Thriller movie The Liquidator with Liu Shi Shi and Deng Chao; they are a pair of criminal psychologists trying to track down a serial killer. All clues lead to Deng Chao’s character’s old friend, played by Ethan Ruan. During the investigation, the killer lets the public vote and decide how a lawyer (Guo Jing Fei) should be punished. 9/30 release date!
=======> ♦ The Legend of the Cat Demon with Huang Xuan, Shōta Sometani, Zhang Tian Ai, Liu Hao Ran, and Ou Hao. The movie follows a series of strange events and deaths that disrupt the peace of Chang’An followed by appearance of a Cat Demon. Our two heroes – one’s a monk and one’s a poet join hands to solve the mystery behind Concubine Yang’s death. Temp release date is 12/22!
=======> ♦ Another movie with Huang Xuan is Director Feng Xiao Gang’s film, Youth, with gorgeous lighting and color contrast, sending our group of actors back to their youth as they experience the feels and pains of adulthood after entering the army art troupe. Interesting topic! 10/1/17 release date!
=======> ♦ Rejected police school candidate, Liu Hao Ran rejoins his swindler uncle Wang Bao Qiang for another adventurous journey of chasing criminals in Detective Chinatown 2. Temp release date is 2/18/18!
=======> ♦ Coming-of-age movie Growing Pains (会痛的十七岁) stars Xu Jiao and Hu Xia and premieres on September 15th. It’s an interesting premise with our heroine afflicted with insensitivity to pain. In high school, she’s bullied and made fun of as No Pain Monster. The male lead then enters her life and makes her cheerful and optimistic. She then experiences her first pain at age 17 (awww). Charlene Choi and Wang Lee Hom also star. Hu Xia sings a song for OST below.
=======> ♦ Handsome model and perfect gentleman Godfrey Gao has a romantic comedy coming up with Wang Li Kun called Love Is A Broadway Hit. Watch him get slapped repeatedly in the trailer. My poor boy! Both are aspiring artists vying for the same role in Mulan on Broadway in New York. Date of release is 10/13!
=======> ♦ Li Ying’s movie, Eternal Wave, continues to release stills but no official date. BAH.

I wonder if Godfrey Gao has considered auditioning for the live-action Mulan for Disney haha
Wouldn’t it be cool to see him also up on the big stage in the American movie industry?
Ahhh Is Kappy a fellow Sailor Moon fan as well?
Thank you for the update!

The 2nd poster for Legend of the Cat Demon has a girl on it whose eyebrows remind me a bit of Elizabeth Taylor. It has a very old-school, classic charm. I hope the trend for rounded eyebrows continue instead of the previous sharpie straight line -_-.
