Interesting. Having been adapted many times throughout Asia, 200 Pounds Beauty is originally based on the Japanese manga Kanna’s Big Success! (カンナさん大成功です!) by Yumiko Suzuki, about a ghost singer who is overweight by tv standards and is used by another popular singer for her lovely voice, until she decides to own that voice with a new altered face and body after going through rounds and rounds of intensive plastic surgery. Such a sad story about the cut-throat industry…

Not really a fan of this storyline… it’s still pretty sad of beauty standards in tv and how it’s cut-throat.
Props to the makeup artists for the show, couldn’t recognize Minh Hang after the transformation (where they put on the layers of skin).
Heroine individual poster with the captions:
The first one with her in the grey dress (before pic): Natural “Beauty”
After: Perfect by Centimeters
Third Poster: She live with a passion… With someone else’s appearance

Thanks Choco! The tagline… T___T The technology and make-up for the transformation has been really good!

I hate this story, especially the korean adaptation of it, its message and its execution and the fact that Jo Jin Mo was in it. I wish it wasn’t so popular. 🙁
