Dang, upcoming Chinese period drama, The King’s Woman, drops promos like flies this week. One trailer every day since the press conference. Lol. Here’s all the combined trailers and stills up till today. Press conference is a win, our OTP is a win, now let’s hope the drama is win. Please, for the love of my sanity.

This is gotta be heavy… Anyway, the story is the prequel to The Legend of Qin, depicting the lives of Tian Ming’s mother and her romance with Qin Shi Huang and Jing Ke. Dilraba Dilmurat takes on the lead role as a carefree woman turned dark after being taken in by the King, played by Zhang Bin Bin.
Synopsis of the Novel: Everyone’s lovable K.O aka Vin Zhang Bin Bin will play Qin Shi Huang (born as Ying Zheng). In the novel, our heroine, Gong Sun Li (Dilraba Dilmurat), is the grand-daughter and disciple of military commander Gong Sun Yu. Jing Ke (first disciple, played by Liu Chang) and Sun Li are childhood lovers and were forced to escape when Qin troops attacked. However, Sun Li’s wall-shattering beauty seizes the interest of the Qin Emperor, Ying Zheng (Zhang Bin Bing), and she’s captured and sent to his palace. It’s then that she discovers she’s pregnant with Jing Ke’s child (Tian Ming). Ying Zheng treats him as if he’s his own child. The tragic day arrives when Jing Ke tries to assassinate Ying Zheng and dies trying. Sun Li (known then as Li Ji) also succumbs on the same day, leaving orphan Tian Ming to escape the palace with Han Shen, Jing Ke’s good friend. [Credit: Kappy]

I haven’t seen the novel so I wouldn’t mind if they change the original story. The original plot doesn’t really interest me too, her going into the palace while pregnant and QSH actually accepted her. Hopefully they change the story professionally, at the very least let it flow naturally please

Ahhh this looks like all kinds of hotness too! Dilraba is totally gorgeous and love her more after tmopb and season 5 of running man.
As for zbb, this is his chance to shine baby. Enjoyed him in love 020 but he was pretty sulking and not very likeable in tmopb. Nonetheless he looks great as lead material.
Hoping they change the ending or leave it open. Something that is more HE.
Now if only dramafever will pick this up too then it’ll be perfect. Oh and please air episodes everyday like tmopb. 🙏😊😁

Yep. Me too. Really liked Dilraba after watching Running Man. Really liked ZBB in Love O2O. Didn’t watch that other show where they were both in it because I heard he was second lead. Why couldn’t they be OTP together with a happily ever after?! 😭Despite how gorgeous they look together in this, I can’t stand angst. Probably won’t be watching this until after the show completes to hear if there’s a good ending or not. Based off this synopsis, it probably won’t. 😒

I LOVE trailer #4. Shows infinitely more depth than just a tragic love story. Despite their cuteness, since the start of the Qin Dynasty is literally my fav piece of C-history, and since I’m firmly on the side of the other 6 kingdoms, I’m rooting for Concubine Li to be the multi-faceted working-on-the-inside hero that she is. Screw happy ending or not, I’m all for “the greater good”. I hate that phrase, but in this case, despite ZBB’s hotness, I can’t help but see him as the bipolar, infinitely dangerous dictator. Concubine Li is playing a dangerous game here and I’m (prob in the minority, given the chemistry of the OTP) hoping she can steel her heart and follow her faith and what she believes in. I’ll definitely masochistically enjoy the pairing, but will be rooting for country over love in this rare case.

O, why has it to that dictator king ? If it was Cao Cao like in “Advisors Alliance” which I am ambivalent,I wouldn’t mind, as I enjoyed their take on CaoCao.

why oh why did they dub bin bin? He normally does his own dubs so what happened here? Or are my ears deceiving me? I miss his sexy deep emotion filled voice #cries

I was disappointed too. He severely hurt his vocal cords during the filming of this drama so he couldn’t do his own dubbing in time 😔

I’m very excited for this. Trailers and visuals look gorgeous and the leads have sizzling chemistry. Chinese costume drama so far this summer was a bit of a disappointment so I hope this won’t be a letdown.
