Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

WHYYYYYYY?!

Now it’s my turn to cry you a sad river.

I just really, really, really, dislike novels that put everyone through the wringer, especially the female lead. This is dog’s blood type of drama that I don’t even want to skim it. It’s so controversial that it needed to be heavily edited before it gets the green light to enter production. They held a press conference a few days ago, confirming Zheng Shuang as their female lead, and just a few hours ago, the drama weibo has officially followed its male lead – Ma Tian Yu (along with GJM and ZS). The original story features…. gang rape (!!), teen abortion, suicide, etc. O_O. It’s a painful love story about four kids in high school. They are in high school…Aigoo… Guo Jing Ming explains he wanted to write about how fast kids are maturing these days and how selfish they are with them not showing gratitude for things, coupled with a growing sense of teenage rebellion. All the emotions escalating into extreme situations, like water gathering into a ditch.

I’m supposed to packing for my trip! Not harrumph-ing over such news. XD

Some Stills:

Random photos of the two leads. One official poster at the end. It looks like Zheng Shuang will be wearing another school uniform. She’s not escaping high school, is she? Lol.

NOOOOOOO NOT GUO JING MING AGAIN
Ooooh, Kappy where are you going for your trip?

    • 19 thoughts on “Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York Tour. =)

Let me know if there’s any must-visit place to eat or shop. Lol.

        Bon voyage Kappy.

I hear there’s a Jianbing craze in NYC. Food trucks etc. But I haven’t been to the area recently. I doubt it’s worth the extra effort of locating these vendors. I’d be looking for exotic cuisine that’s hard to find in smaller cities if I were you.

Did you read the news about the UCLA law student, Dyne Suh, who filed a complaint to the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing against her Airbnb host for anti-Asian remarks? Now we know where to file complaints in Calif. lol. I feel bad when I see dozens of Asian tourists get yelled at the airport immigration line, “Can’t you read the sign?!?!!!” I just get lots of “Where do you REAAALLY come from?” question everywhere. After answering it 200 times, it does get tiring. Doesn’t it always start from an ovum and a… What is there to ask? 😛

Unfortunately I haven’t been to DC, Phil , or Baltimore.
Francois Payard Bakery on 210 Murray St New York, NY 10282. Instead of the circular macaron ice cream sandwiches they have them in rectangles. So delicious.
Shake Shack <— Haven't been there but I've heard their fries are good.
There is those poke/ sushi burrito stuff from Pokeworks.
Cacio e pepe at Cacio e Pepe <— pasta served on a cheese wheel
Dominique Ansel Bakery <— Try their new watermelon ice cream on a watermelon slice.
There's also an avocado dedicated restaurant Avocaderia.
I'm hungry thinking about these food LOL.
Definitely go to Chinatown in Manhattan.
Have a lovely trip ~ I know Phil has a lot of museums.

          I’m just remembering some things.
For NYC sweets and desserts, I have a soft spot for the Frenchy ones, like Laduree (rose macarons), La Maison du Chocolat, etc.

I prefer the Pierre Hermes macarons (jasmine, orange blossom, jardin oriental macarons, and their black sesame chocolate truffles) to Laduree, but I don’t think NYC has Pierre Hermes. Maison Kayser and Amorino are also well-known French brands, but I haven’t tried their NYC shops. (And I prefer the Berthillon icecream,
which I didn’t find on the internet for NYC).

These brands are hard to find in many US cities.

Will you let us know later what food you like best?

          Happy munching!

This is one drama I’m totally not interested in watching. Even if you put my favourite leads on screen I won’t watch it.

      Agreed wholeheartedly. XD

I’m not touching this with a 10 foot pole lol.

This seems like it’s a package deal with Rush to the Dead Summer – where Cheney and ZS gets so little screen time because she was used to promote other supporting leads. Hopefully the same thing here won’t happen to ZS and Ma Tianyu.

I really like this couple from Sword of Legend; praying the story will at least be decent ><

  5. 19 thoughts on “Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

I know Ma Tianyu is young but… high school student? Even Zheng Shuang is pushing it.
Man, this two needs to hop off quick and go for another drama instead.

In Love020, ZS was a college student. In Rush to the end of the summer and here, she’s in HS. Another 2 years, ZS will be back in kindergarten. lol.

I tried watching MTY in the Beauty Private Kitchen. Cannot do more than FF thru some eps. It may take a lot of work before he can take on a general role? I’m not sure what was missing. Director
      and production were not great.

We have to not let GJM meet Fei Wo Si Cun. Imagine the dog blood plot this pair can cook up.

  6. 19 thoughts on “Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

Waited so long for these two to get together again and this is what I get?!

    Not going to watch hmp!

I lied i will check it out.

  7. 19 thoughts on “Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

    Horrible plot.

High school? That’s really pushing it for ZS and MTY. Look for newbies.

Seriously, her acting was super duper meh. In her latest drama, summer rush (sorry, i forget the title), she was just emotionless. Not to mention her character didnt have any strong point. Ught… I just couldnt finish it. Why she got casted in many dramas? With so many handsome co-stars? Lols.. No no im not hating on her. She’s pretty but ught.. She needs a good character that suits her acting level. Or good director. But well, high school story.. Hm… Pass.

Because she has a huge fandom who defends her on all sorts of issues.

  9. 19 thoughts on “Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

It might be fun for her to keep being in bad dramas with limited improvement in acting but gosh I wish she’d try to break out of this…

Not fond of GJM’s works so pass ~

Can someone please spoil me the story plotline. This sounds too depressing to watch >_<

    • 19 thoughts on “Guo Jing Ming’s Cry Me A Sad River confirms Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu

Well in the original novel, everyone dies. The female lead jumped off the building and another one was gang raped. Forgot what happens to the male lead but in any case, they all faced tragic endings.
But they have done major changes to the television version, because if not they won’t be able to air it. So it’s likely plots like teenage pregnancy and gang rape will be removed.
