Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace completes filming after 264 days!

That’s one heck of a long project. I can’t imagine filming for something for that long, you’ll get so attached to playing the given character! On the other hand, they used the production created sets well….now let’s hope it a ratings success for everyone’s effort! Highness Qianlong Emperor Wallace Huo and his OTP in Zhou Xun as Ru Yi and the depiction of their love story over….many dead bodies obstacles. Even best friend Chen Kun congratulated Zhou Xun on weibo, it’s been that long. 90 episodes of epic prettiness and show-off in claws and green monsters in the harem! I know Miss Peach and Coralie have already signed up to watch! Are you in that list? Lol.

Filming Wrapped on 5/6:

My goodness that is such a long shoot.

Are they going to write this as if it’s a romantic love story? I thought they would go for a more cynical take like Legend of Zhen Huan because from the background posted by another member the emperor treated Ru Yi very shabbily.

I won’t be watching. Far too many episodes and I can’t enjoy palace harem romances especially when there are many, many wives like with this emperor. I just feel sorry for the women and can’t empathise with the emperor.

Without a doubt, Qing fashions and hairdos were the most unflattering for males.

Yikes 264 days? I didn’t realise time passed so fast, it was as if they just announced the cast yesterday!! Agree, can’t imagine the cast having to act as a character for so long! It might be difficult to get out of that character! Looking forward to this yay!

I love all the beautiful ladies. I remembered enjoying Zhen Huan with Sun Li although the emperor was a bit old. I may give this a try. 90 is a bit long but if the drama is entertaining then why not. I just heard rumour on Youtube that Eastern Palace will be played by Ruby Lin instead of ZLY (aie aie aie……..) I like Ruby but for someone over 40 to play 18 years old, it is stretching a bit. I hope this is not true.

Ruby doesn’t look like 40 definitely, but the mature woman vibes she gives off now is hard for her to play an 18 year old girl… As much as I love Ruby, I hope the rumour is not true~

Watching 90 episodes is going to be a struggle (luckily there’s the fast forward button and 30 sec episode promos) XP I loved Zhen Huan Zhuan so hope it’s similar to it. Loved the friendships, alliances and rivalries between the females. The romance, not so much :/

    90 episodes is do-able if it’s 30mins per episode & it’s split into season 1 & 2!
Can’t wait to see Zhou XUn in her Qing Dynasty clothing. I think she looks gorgeous in that time period’s attire.

What do you think?
